hello, Apria is saying i owe over $500 but i have had insurance nonstop since i have had Apria. I currently have medicaid as my health insurance as i am injured and out of work. Now i need cpap supplies and they are saying i still owe money. any help would be appreciated. thank you.

Hi In November 2022, I was informed by an Apria representative that the DME sent to me was fully covered by my insurance company. I specified that I did not want to have it delivered if it wasn\'t fully covered by my insurance. They confirmed with someone that it was fully covered & my contract shows $0 due. A claim was submitted to my insurance without proof of medical necessity so it was denied. My doctor\'s office did not receive the fax that Apria wanted more information. After I called, Apria emailed me what they told me they faxed to my doctor; I forwarded this to my doctor. My doctor filled it out and sent it back in December. In early January an Apria representative confirmed in an email that Apria had received the info from my doctor. Since then, I have had no real update on the status of this. Several people from Apria have tried calling from several different numbers. I have either been told they would be reaching out to my local office or someone has hung up on me. I have reached out via phone and/or email at least once a month. Today I received a call where they told me to pay my balance or else it would be sent to collections. When I asked about the status of the sending the information to my insurance company the individual hung up on me. I have never been sent a single bill but I was threatened to be sent to collections. To date, no one at Apria can provide me an update on whether the claim was updated with the medical necessity documentation (per my insurance company, no one has attempted to submit or update a claim). It has now been over six months so it is unlikely they will be able to resubmit the claim with the medical necessity information. Billing calls daily leaving a message to call them back at 866-505-6365.
