Hi Josh. Do you have a copy of the note that was put in your file or the name of the woman you spoke to that promised that it would be taken care of? Have you attempted to mail it back with certified mail? This is a common issue with cable providers and one that many consumers get stuck dealing with. The Comcast installation worker came to install my new equipment, then told me he could not take my old equipment (which he cracked the cable box from) because we are in a new state. I then called to see if they were still going to ask me to return it because that would be ridiculous if I had to drive an hour to return if after their guy said they can’t take it. The lady on the phone said there’s no way I will need to return it and put a note in my file that it cannot be returned. They are now calling 6 times a day from their debt collection number.

When living in California, Comcast (Xfinity) charged me 2x the rate I signed at, for the entire 2 year contract. When I tried to confront them about the money I am owed- they made up an excuse about how my one-year contract "changed" without sending me any new contract or update. I started receiving calls from this number. I called comcast and I was told that they did not know if that was their number. I was told that I do not owe anything. I did a transfer on 02/26/2021 to another address. The person that I spoke to at comcast stated that instead of a transfer that they put an early termination fee on my bill and that it will not be resolved until sometime in April. I was told this will happen automatically, but yet I am receiving rude and harassing phone calls about a bill that I owe because I did a simple transfer.

The types of calls with "dead air" are typically robocalls placed by the company in hopes that you will answer so your debt can be transferred to a debt collector, which they cannot do unless you've answered. However these types of calls are strictly regulated and excessive robocalls without permission by the party being called can lead to compensation. I received calls from 1-877-606-6700. There were never any voicemails left, but I now assume it was Comcast. I moved out of my apartment and canceled service around 9/26/17. My monthly bill was about $89 and I paid via automatic debit. I received a bill for $177.69, then another for $89.46. I couldn't understand what either bill was for. The bills also did not reflect a payment of $50 made to Comcast on 9/12/17. I contacted Comcast on 11/15/17, but the agent was condescending and unable to provide a clear explanation of what the bill was for. On 11/22/17, I contacted Comcast via chat to at least determine where the $50 went. I provided the agent with the authorization number and reference number of the payment. I was told I would hear back from them in a week. I have yet to hear anything, and yesterday I was contacted by a debt collection agency!
