Hello, I am reaching out regarding a TOP collection initiated by Transworld Systems Inc. for a debt that is over 10 years old. I was not the active-duty service member associated with this account, nor did my sponsor sign the original form. Based on this, the debt should be considered void. Additionally, I never received any judgment documentation; instead, my tax return was withheld without prior notice. I would like to either settle this debt for the original amount owed or have it dismissed entirely, given that I was not the active-duty member who opened the Star Card. If resolution is not possible through these options, I would like to understand whether filing for bankruptcy would address this issue without negatively impacting my husband.
