FDCPA & Rosenthal Act Violation - Jonathan Neil & Associates (JNA) I am seeking legal representation regarding multiple violations by Jonathan Neil & Associates (JNA) concerning a debt that was paid in full to the original creditor on February 27, 2026. On March 3, 2026, I contacted JNA to request a \"Settlement in Full\" letter. During this recorded call, the representative made a false and misleading representation of the law by stating it is \"illegal\" for a consumer to record a telephone call in California once the agency has already disclosed the line is being recorded. I have documented the following evidence: Proof of Payment to the original creditor. Detailed Call Logs from Jan 30 and March 3 documenting the deceptive statements. Certified Mail (Mailform Order #d6a46006-90af-4550-9d59-6f79e4416858) sent to JNA’s Tarzana office containing a formal CCPA Request to Know, a Notice of Evidence Preservation, and the proof of payment. The collector’s false statement regarding my legal rights is a clear violation of FDCPA § 807 and the California Rosenthal Act. I am looking to hold them accountable, secure my settlement letter, and pursue statutory damages.

I am writing to request assistance regarding a letter I received from Jonathan Neil & Associates. The letter states that I owe $16,000 in damages related to an accident I was involved in. However, I had active auto insurance coverage at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, the insurance company I was with has become unresponsive and essentially “disappeared” after the accident. Jonathan Neil & Associates is now claiming I was uninsured at the time, which is not true. I have attempted to contact them to clarify the situation, but every time I call, I am met with threats and harassment instead of a civil discussion. I am feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to proceed, and I would appreciate any help or guidance you can offer in negotiating with them or protecting my rights.

The sum is 6250 in damages which was due to a crash that i was not the driver or owner of the vehicle. I have saved both letters which I can scan and provide to you. The last letter wants me to send in writing that I am disputing the claim within 30 days. I would like to have this matter handled professionally as I feel this is a mistake. Also, i do not see this debt on my credit report so I am curious if this is a true debt inquiry or not, Thanks
