Exceptional Experience

Mike Bertucci handled my case professionally and successfully. Lakisha Joshua took time to understand my case with the utmost patience. Both Mike and Lakisha, in my opinion, are true assets to America’s Consumer Lawyer.

The debt collector was inappropriate and aggressive. She was very personal. Asking why I cant just ask family, how am I eating, and how I have a cell phone. Was calm and patient but continued to aggressively berate me for my debt. I main several complaints but the same person targets me. Same call everyday at same time. It is insensitive especially since so many lost their jobs during the pandemic.

Called and informed me that my student loans were in deferment. I stated that I am currently in school and they should not be. They stated that this is what was not paid. I informed them that I was in FASA with that school. He said that I owed $2,014. I tried to ask why having I received a letter, but they never responded to that. Plus there was a bunch of loud noise in the background.

This number calls me frequently about an alleged outstanding debt. Yesterday they actually called my ex-brother in law asking for me and saying that I have an outstanding debt. I've been divorced for over 10 years and my ex-brother in law has never been on any type of legal documents of mine, even when I was married to his brother. I've never received anything in the mail from this supposed collection agency either. My credit is fairly good and I pay my bills on time, so I have no idea what it's about. I filed bankruptcy back in 2005, but all of that should be long gone from my credit report. I did dispute a bill I received from a university back in 2013, but that's the dispute I can think of. They were trying to get me to pay them after I withdrew from a class, but I was receiving student loans to attend classes. The student loan was paid to the university and the university would send me a refund, including my final semester. They could never provide me with an itemized bill explaining how they sent me a refund but then wanted money back from me, so I did not pay it. Thanks.
