I hit my neighbors car, offered to fix it and we took it to a body shop. The assessed damages were only $1000, my neighbor refused and went through insurance. I did not have insurance at the time, it was a brand new car. They went quiet for 6-7 months and now I got a letter in the mail from “United Subrogation Associates” telling me I need to contact them asap. I called them and now they are asking for $3200, or else they will suspend my drivers license and that I will go to court and it will affect my score. I need help, I don’t know if I should negotiate or just pay it.

Received call from United Subrogation Associates representative requesting call back for a filing 196993. Looked the company up and seen reviews about the company being a scam and phishing for information. Not sure why they are calling but from my understanding I shouldn’t personally speak with them so I would like an attorney to reach out to see why they are further contacting me.

Hello,
I wanted to inquire about a letter I received in the mail. I received a letter of Subrogation in the mail and over the phone they say I owe $26,000. I asked for some kind of statement or invoice and they said the only way to get that financial statement is if I send them a written letter with my signature asking for it.
I was in a car accident in Wisconsin December 2023 and my car was totaled but not the car of person I hit. A few weeks after the accident my car insurance company called me saying they could not approve my claim because I was covered in the insurance but not my car. To clarify there were no injuries involved. My husband checked and we think it was an error on his part when he transferred the insurance from Florida to Wisconsin at that time. I currently live in Florida.
I’m not looking to ‘fight’ the $26,000 if owe it. It just seems very steep for what happened in the accident. I want to make sure that this is a real letter and not a scam. That if I do need to pay it I will be cleared of anything else involving this incident. So far I have been advised to send a letter requesting and itemized invoice, but NOT with my signature. Is that something I would be able get help with your services?
Thank you
