Payment/Billing Errors
One of the most pressing complaints against Ally Financial Inc. is its failure to update payment reports. Customers have lamented being reported to credit bureaus despite settling bills on time. Some have even paid in full but have not received titles to their vehicles. Others were slapped with interests after paying for the final dues.
Limited Communication Lines
Many of Ally Financial Inc’s clients have been slapped with delinquent payments despite paying on time. Consequently, these consumers have tried reaching out to Ally to no avail. Apparently, Ally Financial Inc’s agents have never called back and have passed customers to different departments and back. Their email correspondence has also been slow to return messages.
Lack of Notices
Tied to its billing errors, Ally Financial Inc has repossessed vehicles for their own failure. Consumers reported no repossession notice was ever issued to them, and that some had their cars taken despite making payments. With the latter customers, Allied Financial Inc has failed to update its financial/billing statements.
Rescinded Refund/Reimbursement Issues
A number of complainants have also aired out receiving confirmation for refunds on warranties and early payoffs, only to be told a story otherwise. Some agents and even connected dealers apparently have verified the reimbursements, but have recanted it after months of customers’ constant communication.
Poor Customer Service
Complaints against Ally Financial Inc largely involved poor communication with their agents. According to reports, their customer service has failed to correspond timely with consumers, with some customers have had to wait for hours only to be hung up on, resulting in charges and hits on the consumers’ credit reports. Some agents were also unable to explain or justify charges after accounts were supposedly closed.
Unfortunately, these complaints are just the beginning for Alpha Warranty Services, Inc. Between billing issues, delayed communications, deficiency in notices, refunding issues, and poor customer service, Alpha Warranty Services, Inc customers are left wondering what options they have regarding their consumer rights.

Here’s How to Make Big Companies Listen
It can be frustrating when you rely on a service and don’t get the results you’ve paid for. Big companies make mistakes every day and not only is it their fault, it can cost you money, time, and leave you with big headaches.
Have you tried calling Ally Financial Inc. to address an issue, only to be told that the representative has no authority to do so? Or maybe you’ve tried talking to someone higher up in the company, only to be ignored, dismissed, or they take too long, continuing to waste your precious time. Maybe you’ve sent an email to the company which only resulted in a prefabricated response or they never follow through with what they’ve promised.
When you’re limited in your choices for service providers or you’re locked into a contract, what can you do?
Fortunately, you do have options.
Use Arbitration to Settle Your Complaint
Most companies like Ally Financial Inc. have an arbitration clause in their contracts to prevent being taken to court for traditional litigation. This is actually an advantage for the consumer. When you request an arbitration hearing, an independent third-party (the arbitrator) with knowledge of the type of situation involved will listen to the facts from both sides and make an impartial, binding decision. Ally Financial Inc. will have to do a lot of work and there is no guarantee that they will have a successful outcome.
Arbitration is Fast, Inexpensive, and Private
Arbitration with Ally Financial Inc. is conducted through the American Arbitration Association (AAA). According to the AAA Consumer Due Process Protocol, arbitration through AAA will comply with their Statement of Principles, which includes:
- The process is fundamentally fair – All parties are entitled to qualified, competent, impartial arbitrators who will conduct a fair hearing.
- You get access to all relevant information – This includes reasonable costs, confidentiality, reasonable time limits, and meeting times and/or locations that are agreeable to both parties.
- Transparency – AAA provides clear arbitration agreements and the ability for each side to hire their own representation.
- Just process – Arbitration allows the arbitrator to award the same relief as traditional litigation in a binding decision.
- Alternative to arbitration – Mediation and the ability to take the case to small claims court should be available in some cases.
Arbitration Gives you Control and Leverage
When Ally Financial Inc. is alerted that you plan to pursue arbitration, they know it will cost them money out of pocket. Not only do they run the risk of losing the case, but they will also pay for their mistake(s) and the arbitration itself. This gives you more leverage with your demands.
If Ally Financial Inc. doesn’t meet those demands and you have a real complaint, America’s Consumer Lawyer can help by representing you in arbitration where you will get a fair, just, and transparent hearing.
Control and Leverage Triggers Faster Settlements
Large companies like Ally Financial Inc. don’t like the uncertainty and loss of control that comes with arbitration. Not only do they lose the advantage in the situation, but you’re also on equal footing with them in the eyes of arbitration.
The first step in taking on Ally Financial Inc. is to formally raise your complaint. The lawyers at America’s Consumer Lawyer can help you to do so. We will send a letter of demands to the corporate offices of Ally Financial Inc., letting them know that you’re ready to begin arbitration if a satisfactory resolution is not achieved. Typically, this is 30 days, but it will depend on your specific contract with Ally Financial Inc.
Approximately 50% of cases will settle before proceeding to an arbitration hearing during this time. However, if Ally Financial Inc. doesn’t offer a reasonable settlement within the appropriate time frame, the next step would be filing a case with AAA. America’s Consumer Lawyer will not only put together the necessary paperwork for arbitration, but we will also help you take the next steps in the arbitration process.
UDAAP and Arbitration
UDAAP is an acronym representing laws that prohibit Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices in the context of trade or business. This includes misrepresentation, deception, false advertising, or false promises. These laws emerged following the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act that was enacted in response to the 2008 financial crisis. The ultimate goal with these laws is geared towards protecting consumers involved in financial transactions, educating consumers on their rights, and allowing them access to information and resources to best inform their decisions.
UDAAP laws are regulated by two organizations, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The FTC expanded the initial UDAAP laws in 2004 to include unfair and deceptive acts and practices. Some standards for unfairness, in particular, include if it causes or is likely to cause substantial injury to consumers, the injury is not reasonably avoidable by consumers, and the injury is not outweighed by countervailing benefits to consumers or to competition.
Every state has UDAAP laws, which can vary widely. However, the lawyers at America’s Consumer Lawyer understand these laws and can use them to get compensation for deceptive practices, representing consumers throughout the country in cases of arbitration at no cost to them. The company will not only pay the consumer, but they will also pay my fees as well. The consumer will never pay me a cent.
If you’re dealing with an issue with Ally Financial Inc., you might try filing a complaint with the BBB or the customer service team with Ally Financial Inc. Unfortunately, these avenues won’t always lead to a successful resolution for you, the customer. Instead, you may want to consider an experienced arbitration lawyer to take on your case.
Arbitration is a very useful tool for resolving disputes, and America’s Consumer Lawyer can help. With our expert guidance, we bring the big companies to the table and provide the support needed to get your bills corrected, credit reports fixed, improper fees refunded, and more. Let us pick up the sword for you; you have nothing to lose.

They overcharge my loan loan was supposed to be up may 2025 but had 9 extension which they say bring it to February 2026 called now say I still owe $7000
I had a car repossessed in 2014 by Ally Financial. I was also a part of a class action law suit around 2020 for them unlawfully repossessing cars. The credit agencies show that the debt was removed from my credit report in 2020. I received a 1099-C for 5335.16 for 2025. I spoke to the IRS and already filed a 1099-C with them in 2021 for 1505.00. According to Ally, they wrote off the debt in 2/2025. I need help because this is incorrect.
My car was illegally repossessed out of my driveway. I spent literally days trying to contact Ally to get this resolved, but I was routed to India, where each person I spoke with, could not or would not help mebecause I did not a have a loan number with them, I was literally just sent in circles from DEPT to DEPT. When I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager, I was also advised I would hear back within 72 hours, that never happened.
Ally financial never sent me a tax form for a reposession and reported my reposession to the IRS as income. I had to pay the IRS over $7000.00 and now i am stuck paying a tax debt to the state of louisiana when the car was purchased and repossessed in Missouri.
My last information was not finished. I has an agreement to pay $5,477.71 by Oct 18th, but my vehicle was repoed Oct 17th at a hotel in MN. I did not receive a notification.
Complaint with Ally Financial
I sent a previous message but not sure if the email was correct so I am sending another message to you with my alternate email:
I leased a vehicle through Ally Financial. At the end of the lease I called over a dozen times to get the buyout documents. They put me on hold and transferred the calls over 1 hour each time. They put my account into delinquency. I called several times more and never got an answer on how I can buy out the vehicle as per my lease agreement. Then Ally put my loan on Charge Off on my credit reports. I finally spoke to a supervisor 3 times who gave me their wiring instructions. I asked them to record the calls that if I pay the buy out quote, which was higher than the lease buy out amount, they would send me the lein release document and title to my name. The supervisor, Val, said the quote included the NY sales tax in the amount to be paid, they would send me the lein release and title to my name. I made a wire transfer and confirmed with Val. He stated the balance is zero and they would send me the documents and title in 7-10 days. 1 month later, I still didn’t get any documents as promised. I have called Ally 5 times and they keep telling me they sent the documents and title. Today, I called them and now they say that they will not send me the lein release documents and title until I pay NY taxes to them. I told them that I called several times prior to making the balance payment and they recorded the supervisor saying that the taxes are included in the higher buy out quote.
Every time I call them, I get the run around and now they are saying something different about getting the necessary documents and title to the vehicle that I paid them for.
Please advise on what your firm can do to help me resolve this nightmare with Ally Financial.

How I Bank has continually shut down my online account every time I am late, so I am not able to check balances make payments or anything else unless I call in. When I call in, I have had to call several times just to have dead air or be hung up on. This has gone on for months. I finally figured out if I use somebody else’s phone, I can get in directly to them. I did this for several months and finally I just gave up trying to make my payment online and have my account activated every time. Especially after they told me my truck was out for repossession, that’s why my account was being shut down. That was a lie after speaking with a manager on Friday. My truck was not out for repossession. The customer service reps have made derogatory comments been rude about me being late with the payments.Belittling. I do not receive any statements in the US mail or online I have no information about my account. Just threats and no answers. I attempted to set up an extension Friday only to be told I had to come up with a payment on Monday. everybody seems to be rude and nasty over there. I still have no idea the balance, payments owed or anything. They are making it difficult to make payments by not answering the phone by canceling my online account every month and not sending out letters of my account or tardiness. I’ve never been treated by a bank like this. I consider it criminal
Ally Financial Case- Unaware of the data breach 2024 and my 2021 Chevy Equinox I believe was illegally repossessed due to not only the data breach, but bad business practices. I was unaware of any documentation being sent out to customers detailing the situations. I just now found out the vehicles with several other models had bad water pumps.. Despite being laid off 2022 from my job, I didn\'t have the car for an entire year before it was repossessed. This has ruined my credit, I owe more now than before and I have no means of transportation.
I would like information about filing for arbitration
Issue with Ally Financial. I have a letter if you would like me to send it to you before you call so you can understand the full scope.
I paid ally the money said that I had to pay them to get my truck so I could get a modification to lower my payment. They said they will send me all the information in the mail and to my email. So ii never received it so I called and asked them about it they said should be here by Friday never so I got on the ally app and I found my modification letter in my portal and they never sent me anything there before and told me I could never send anything though my portal. So I signed the paper work and send the the money I need to start my modification and they denied my application saying I was to late witch I needed that modification because of loss of income. I asked them about it they said they never received it so I asked about my 1795 dollar I sent them because it was not on the ally app showing I paid that until I told them I have receipt of it being paid and the next day there it’s was on my ally app after 3 months. They said that I’m still behind on payments. I feel like they are trying to get more money out of me and harassing me ever day about I done everything they said and I still get denied or they need more money and have done everything to try to keep my truck. There not helping me at all just making my life miserable and I’m to the point I want answers were is my money going and why are they doing this to me and probably other people with hard times. Thank you for your time
Im writing to file a formal complaint against Ally Auto for their failure to retrieve my towed vehicle, which led to its sale and a charge-off on my credit report. This situation has caused significant financial and personal distress, and I seek your assistance in resolving this matter.
In 2022, my car was towed, and I immediately informed Ally Auto of the situation. I made an agreement with Ally Auto that they would pick up the car from the tow company ( I was out of the country during this process ) Over the course of two weeks, I repeatedly contacted Ally Auto representatives, who assured me each time that they would retrieve the vehicle. Despite these assurances, Ally Auto failed to pick up the car, and as a result, the tow company sold my vehicle.
The failure of Ally Auto to honor their agreement has resulted in the loss of my car and a charge-off being added to my credit report. This charge-off has negatively impacted my credit score and has caused undue financial hardship. I believe that Ally Auto\'s negligence and failure to act in a timely manner are the direct causes of this situation.
I am trying to pay off a car loan for my daughter. The car was repossed and sold about three years ago. I have spent sever hous over several days trying to resolve this through Ally and gotton nowhere. They tranferred my calls several times and each person gives me conflicting information from the last. I have gotten different settlement amounts from differen persons and told where to send it [a Chase bank in NY}. I have asked for documenttation of the account and a statement with the details of the settlement. I have been repaetedly told they cannont generate a statement of any other documentation. It seems Fair Dept collection Act and /or the Electrinic Fund act requires them to provide written account information. I have read horror stories about other who are having similar problems. I very reluctant to send my money anywhere withour sa statement of the terms of the settlement. I would appreciate some help.

Hello , I am with ally auto financial . My car was repo and trying to get it back and I keep getting pushed further back to getting my vehicle back due to an agent error
ALLY FINANCIAL , playing very difficult to get my life back on track with this car payment and repo.
The vehicle that I was leasing since Feb 2021 was ending on April 30th 2024. I contacted ALLY Financial on March 30, 2024, and spoke to \"them\" about the lease buy out. It was agreed verbally via phone the residual was at a set price. My account on their portal showed that amount. A cashier\'s check was sent out via USPS with a tracking number as Priority Mail. Upon checking the status on the check, it was delivered within two days...On April 20th, 2024, I went on their portal to check on the status of the payment. No indication of whether they receive it or not. My instincts where not getting a good vibe on this, so I started an IM chat via ALLY. The CSR personnel found the account and said that the Cashier\'s Check is not accepted since it\'s third party...And they said it was received in their notes on April 12th, 2024. The Cashier\'s Check should be considered Valid and is an acceptable way to purchase in good faith. The personnel at ALLY are not accustomed to finance. Only limited resources. Thank you.
2 issues with a vehicle that was traded in. First they obviously knew it was traded in, they marked mine and my wife\'s credit report as 30 days paid late. I had to call them multiple times and dispute it with the credit bureaus. The second issue with this same vehicle is the lease termination fee. The dealer did not pay the lease termination fee so Ally sent me a bill. I set up a payment arrangement which I have 3 out 4 of. Ally continued to call me and request payment even though this was in place. They drafted the money out of my account and the subsequently sent me check back for each payment. They have no marked the account as charged on mine and my wife\'s credit reports even though they were technically paid.
Ally Financial has been violating several laws and ignoring my requests and paperwork ect
I deposited a check for 15,500 into my ally bank account. They told me it would be available in five days. After the five days I still had no access to the money. I called them and they claimed it was glitches in the system, then since I had no choice I agreed to wait two more days, then my account balance went from 15,000 to zero and the account online says it was withdrawn. I called ally who said they mailed a check but don\'t have a tracking number and they keep telling me to call back after they close.
Ally auto loan has done the things listed on your website to me. I am in Santa clara county, California.
I am bring sued by ally bank for an auto. I don’t think the agreement is valid due to fraud and discrimination.
I currently have a auto loan with Ally Financial for my 2022 Chevy Colorado. I have been experincing financial issues and recently left my job. After good standing with my account I requested a extension to help get me back on my feet. After three days, I called to chatted in to check on the status of my application and they said it was never submitted. I have been dealing with the same issue for a year now.
They\'ll send me letters of approval and will go back on it and the list goes on. I do not want to jeopardize loosing my vehicle but I\'m also doing the best I can to keep my payments on time so I can live and work.
I\'m getting harassed by Ally lost some clients and times have been tough. They are calling people in my family that i\'m not on good terms with and harassing people causing me problems.
They are interrupting meetings that I have so that I can actually pay them back, they are telling people that I work for them and lying to get my information. They already have my information.
They are telling family members that I used to work for them and they were my employer, they are harassing family members of mine as well.
They are clogging up my phone line so I don\'t even get incoming calls.
This is really messed up. Please text me, because if you call I probably won\'t even get that. This is a joke.
Ally Auto Finance Company repossessed my truck. I was told by their representative with their redemption department that I needed to pay $2306.44. Then, when I called back 3 days later after getting the fund from various resources. Another representative got on the phone from the same department and stated I need to pay an additional $1300. Claiming that I have to pay this month bill in advance, which it isn’t due until the 30th of this month. This has caused me such mental anguish, anxiety, depression, and frustration. I have missed medical appointments and I have a new job I supposed to be starting. I asked if I pay the amount the previous representative gave me, can I get my truck back? And the representative told me no!
