Scanty Coverage

The number one complaint about Alpha Warrant Service, Inc is about their coverage. According to customers, their coverage in the paper looked hefty but in reality, the contracts had more uncovered repairs than vice versa. During claims, customers have been slapped with contract clauses effectively affording Alpha Warranty Services, Inc minimal to zero financial coverage in about every scenario.

Contract Loopholes

Another related issue against Alpha Warranty Services, Inc is their numerous contract loopholes. Reportedly, the company has denied innumerable claims citing certain clauses and wordings to justify their financial resolve against policyholders. In the end, consumers are forced to pay out of pocket for repairs costing up to $3,000.

Delayed Processing and Responses

A number of consumers also reported that Alpha Warranty Services, Inc is slow to respond. Some claimed up to 2 weeks of delayed communication resulting in their vehicles in shops for extended periods, excluding the actual time processing the claims.

Poor Customer Service

While consumers have, at times, spared Alpha Warranty Services, Inc’s customer service agents from their scathing reviews, this did not often result in ideal resolutions. Often, customers are only able to get warm apologies and empathetic words while they are left to fend for their costly repairs without the promised coverage. Others dealing with their representatives have stated they were unhelpful, put on hold for lengthy periods, or slapped with vague updates like requesting escalation.

Unfortunately, these complaints are just the beginning for Alpha Warranty Services, Inc. Between measly coverage, contract loopholes, late refund processing and communication, and poor customer service, Alpha Warranty Services, Inc customers are left wondering what options they have regarding their consumer rights.

It can be frustrating when you rely on a service and don’t get the results you’ve paid for. Big companies make mistakes every day and not only is it their fault, but it can also cost you money, time, and leave you with big headaches.

Have you tried calling Alpha Warranty Services, Inc to address an issue, only to be told that the representative has no authority to do so? Or maybe you’ve tried talking to someone higher up in the company, only to be ignored, dismissed, or they take too long, continuing to waste your precious time. Maybe you’ve sent an email to the company which only resulted in a prefabricated response or they never follow through with what they’ve promised.

When you’re limited in your choices for service providers or you’re locked into a contract, what can you do?

Fortunately, you do have options.

Use Arbitration to Settle Your Complaint

Most companies like Alpha Warranty Services, Inc have an arbitration clause in their contracts to prevent being taken to court for traditional litigation. When you request an arbitration hearing, an independent third-party (the arbitrator) with knowledge of the type of situation involved will listen to the facts from both sides and make an impartial, binding decision. Alpha Warranty Services, Inc will have to do a lot of work and there is no guarantee that they will have a successful outcome.

Arbitration is Fast, Inexpensive, and Private

Arbitration with Alpha Warranty Services, Inc is conducted through the American Arbitration Association (AAA). According to the AAA Consumer Due Process Protocol, arbitration through AAA will comply with their Statement of Principles, which includes:

  • The process is fundamentally fair - All parties are entitled to qualified, competent, impartial arbitrators who will conduct a fair hearing.
  • You get access to all relevant information - This includes reasonable costs, confidentiality, reasonable time limits, and meeting times and/or locations that are agreeable to both parties.
  • Transparency - AAA provides clear arbitration agreements and the ability for each side to hire their own representation.
  • Just process - Arbitration allows the arbitrator to award the same relief as traditional litigation in a binding decision.
  • Alternative to arbitration - Mediation and the ability to take the case to small claims court should be available in some cases.

Arbitration Gives you Control and Leverage

When Alpha Warranty Services, Inc is alerted that you plan to pursue arbitration, they know it will cost them money out of pocket. If Alpha Warranty Services, Inc doesn’t meet those demands and you have a real complaint, Agruss Law Firm, LLC can help by representing you in arbitration where you will get a fair, just, and transparent hearing.

Control and Leverage Triggers Faster Settlements

Large companies like Alpha Warranty Services, Inc don’t like the uncertainty and loss of control that comes with arbitration. Not only do they lose the advantage in the situation, but you’re also on equal footing with them in the eyes of arbitration.

Approximately 50% of cases will settle before proceeding to an arbitration hearing during this time. However, if Alpha Warranty Services, Inc doesn’t offer a reasonable settlement within the appropriate time frame, the next step would be filing a case with AAA. Agruss Law Firm, LLC will not only put together the necessary paperwork for arbitration, but we will also help you take the next steps in the arbitration process.

UDAAP and Arbitration

UDAAP is an acronym representing laws that prohibit Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices in the context of trade or business. This includes misrepresentation, deception, false advertising, or false promises. These laws emerged following the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act that was enacted in response to the 2008 financial crisis. The ultimate goal with these laws is geared towards protecting consumers involved in financial transactions, educating consumers on their rights, and allowing them access to information and resources to best inform their decisions.

UDAAP laws are regulated by two organizations, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The FTC expanded the initial UDAAP laws in 2004 to include unfair and deceptive acts and practices. Some standards for unfairness, in particular, include if it causes or is likely to cause substantial injury to consumers, the injury is not reasonably avoidable by consumers, and the injury is not outweighed by countervailing benefits to consumers or to competition.

Every state has UDAAP laws, which can vary widely. However, the lawyers at Agruss Law Firm, LLC understand these laws and can use them to get compensation for deceptive practices, representing consumers throughout the country in cases of arbitration at no cost to them. The company will not only pay the consumer, but they will also pay my fees as well. The consumer will never pay me a cent.

If you’re dealing with an issue with Alpha Warranty Services, Inc, you might try filing a complaint with the BBB or the customer service team with Alpha Warranty Services, Inc. Unfortunately, these avenues won’t always lead to a successful resolution for you, the customer. Instead, you may want to consider an experienced arbitration lawyer to take on your case.

I have my vehicle a 2013 BMW 328i covered under Alpha warranty. The warranty terminates on August 2022. My vehicle broke down on me on April 20 2022 on a toll road while driving to work. I had it towed to a BMW dealer. My car has been there for 2 weeks now. Alpha has been slow walking the process saying things like they need pics of the damage and when they did receive the pics they would say they need video then they would say they didn't recieve it so dealer would send it again. Then they said that they needed teardown pics of the damage. This all stretched out 2 weeks. I had to rent a car just to get to work. When Alpha finally say they got everything they need they then said to give them 24-48 hours to review it and to come up with answer. It took them 72 hours. I called them on day 3 and was told they denied my claim because my car was over 100,000 miles but they are willing to cover the teardown cost.

Purchase 2015 Hyundai Sonata from a dealership (not Hyundai) with a dealer warranty of 30 days or 1000 miles and a warranty through Alpha Warranty Services. After driving the vehicle more than 30 days but less than 1000 miles, the car "went into limp mode" alongside the highway. Had it towed to Hyundai of Ocala, FL. We were told the car was part of the recall (class action about the engine) but claim was denied because we had no "maintenance records" from previous owner (from 30k-80k miles) other than an oil change done by the dealership we purchased the vehicle from. Hyundai reached out to the extended warranty company and they denied the claim because of the sludge. We contacted the dealership and they advised us to take the car to a different Hyundai dealership and they would be able to help us but yet again were told vehicle would not be covered under Hyundai class action. We did not get an inspection prior to purchasing

Hi Tania. It sounds like you've got a bit of a problem with your recent car purchase, which I'm sure is frustrating when you're getting the runaround. I will give you a call and we can talk more about this and determine your best course of action. Thanks, Mike

While out of town, the drive line under my 2009 Dodge 1500 just fell down and was dragging on the ground. I had the vehicle towed to the nearest Dodge dealer for determination of the issue. It was determined that a part of the driveline that connects the Drive Axel to the Rear Differential had a nut that had failed, which caused the rear end to fall into itself and seize up. Alpha Warranty company has denied the repair claim, indicating that the policy specifically does not include a nut failure, so the claim is denied out of hand. I have requested the written denial, but have to date not received that denial. When I call to request the forms for an appeal, I am told that they will not send out any information regarding an appeal since the company has denied the claim. My specific complaint is that the Drive Axel and rear end are covered in the warranty and it seems that Alpha Warranty company is using vague excuses to not cover the repair. Also that when I request an appeal packet from the company, my request is denied.

Hello Roy. Warranty services are known for this type of behavior--vague information, denied claims, and refusal to hear anything that doesn't meet their standards. You are certainly not the first consumer who has dealt with this and you will likely not be the last. You do have options and I would be happy to speak with you about it. Send over your copy of your contract with Alpha Warranty Services INC to [email protected] I can review it and give you a call. Thanks, Mike
