What is AT&T?

AT&T Corporation, formerly known as the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T), was incorporated with The Bell Telephone company in 1885 as a subsidiary. This was done in an effort to establish the first long-distance telephone network. However, in 1899, AT&T bought Bell’s assets, making AT&T the parent company of the entire Bell System.

Today, AT&T is the number 1 largest communication company by revenues. In 2020, the company reported $172 billion in consolidated revenues. AT&T has expanded its services to offer consumers internet, phone, and cable services.

Billing Errors

Customers have lamented incurring surcharges with their monthly bills from AT&T. According to complaints, the company’s monthly billing differs each month. Customer service agents have also failed to justify the inconsistencies with the billing or properly amend the differences. Additionally, customers who have closed their accounts kept receiving bills or, out of nowhere, had started receiving bills for already discontinued services at the height of the pandemic.

Misleading Advertisements

Despite offering supposedly pocket-friendly plans, AT&T and has been reported for their deceptive offers. Those who have availed of certain plans were unaware of surcharges and have had difficult times having their bills adjusted or justified. There were also reports of individuals getting charged for plans they did not subscribe to.

Technical Errors

AT&T as a media giant has colossal failures over technical errors. Aside from its departments failing to corroborate requests and reports for numerous consumers, it’s also failed to schedule basic repairs and follow-ups. Clients who have requested repairs or disconnections were left waiting for a service crew that never showed up. This has left many with broken and unusable cable or internet.

Non Consensual Contract Obligation

Other AT&T consumers have reported having availed no-contract services and products only to be locked into agreements spanning months to years. Others have had their accounts signed up for contract services without applying for it. This sketchy practice has left customers out hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to rectify and hours of their lives being bounced from one agent to another.

Undisclosed Payment Terms

There have been many clients criticizing AT&T for their payment terms. According to the complaints, the company has failed to notify them of changes in payment terms like having two monthly charges, the other an advance on the next billing cycle, instead of the typical one-time billing. This has resulted in trouble with many customers especially those on a financial tight spot.

Poor Customer Service

AT&T customer agents, according to complaints, were unhelpful and rude. Many of those who have tried to resolve their issues with customer support have faced multiple transfers from one department to another without resolution. Others have had their calls disconnected without warning despite waiting for hours to finally speak to someone. The cherry on top is that AT&T responds to BBB complaints with a generic customer-friendly tone without addressing concerns.  Unfortunately, these complaints are just the beginning for AT&T. Customers also complained that billing inconsistencies, misleading ads, technical errors, non-consensual contract binding, undisclosed payment terms update, and poor customer service, AT&T customers are left wondering what options they have regarding their consumer rights.

We Fix Complaints When Customer Service Won’t

Has AT&T used misleading sales tactics? Have you received poor service? Do you have complaints with billing? Do you want customer service at AT&T to listen?

A lot of AT&T Corporation customers aren’t happy with their service and the Better Business Bureau lists 3,423 customer complaints against the company in the past three years, including complaints for billing and collections practices, problems with a service/product, advertising and sales, among others.

If your complaints haven’t been heard, we can help. At America’s Consumer Lawyer we help customers who have been mistreated by big companies–much like AT&T–and we turn your complaints into resolutions!

We’ll not only file your legal demands with AT&T, but we’ll also negotiate with the company. If your claim isn’t resolved through these negotiations, we’ll work through the legal process that is outlined in your AT&T contract, which is typically arbitration.

America’s Consumer Lawyer gets results–including zero balances, refunds, and other compensation.

Here’s How to Make Big Companies Listen

It can be frustrating when you rely on a service and don’t get the results you’ve paid for. Big companies make mistakes every day and not only is it their fault, but it can also cost you money, time, and leave you with big headaches.

Have you tried calling AT&T to address an issue, only to be told that the representative has no authority to do so? Or maybe you’ve tried talking to someone higher up in the company, only to be ignored, dismissed, or they take too long, continuing to waste your precious time. Maybe you’ve sent an email to the company which only resulted in a prefabricated response or they never follow through with what they’ve promised.

When you’re limited in your choices for service providers or you’re locked into a contract, what can you do?

Fortunately, you do have options.

Use Arbitration to Settle Your Complaint

Most companies like AT&T have an arbitration clause in their contracts to prevent being taken to court for traditional litigation. This is actually an advantage for the consumer. When you request an arbitration hearing, an independent third party (the arbitrator) with knowledge of the type of situation involved will listen to the facts from both sides and make an impartial, binding decision. AT&T will have to do a lot of work and there is no guarantee that they will have a successful outcome.

Arbitration is Fast, Inexpensive, and Private

Arbitration with AT&T is conducted through the American Arbitration Association (AAA). According to the AAA Consumer Due Process Protocol, arbitration through AAA will comply with their Statement of Principles, which includes:

  • The process is fundamentally fair – All parties are entitled to qualified, competent, impartial arbitrators who will conduct a fair hearing.
  • You get access to all relevant information – This includes reasonable costs, confidentiality, reasonable time limits, and meeting times and/or locations that are agreeable to both parties.
  • Transparency – AAA provides clear arbitration agreements and the ability for each side to hire their own representation.
  • Just process – Arbitration allows the arbitrator to award the same relief as traditional litigation in a binding decision.
  • Alternative to arbitration – Mediation and the ability to take the case to small claims court should be available in some cases.

Arbitration Gives you Control and Leverage

When AT&T is alerted that you plan to pursue arbitration, they know it will cost them money out of pocket. Not only do they run the risk of losing the case, but they will also pay for their mistake(s) and the arbitration itself. This gives you more leverage with your demands.

If AT&T doesn’t meet those demands and you have a real complaint, America’s Consumer Lawyer can help by representing you in arbitration where you will get a fair, just, and transparent hearing.

Control and Leverage Triggers Faster Settlements

Large companies like AT&T don’t like the uncertainty and loss of control that comes with arbitration. Not only do they lose the advantage in the situation, but you’re also on equal footing with them in the eyes of arbitration.

The first step in taking on AT&T is to formally raise your complaint. The lawyers at America’s Consumer Lawyer can help you to do so. We will send a letter of demands to the corporate offices of AT&T, letting them know that you’re ready to begin arbitration if a satisfactory resolution is not achieved. Typically, this is 30 days, but it will depend on your specific contract with AT&T.

Approximately 50% of cases will settle before proceeding to an arbitration hearing during this time. However, if AT&T doesn’t offer a reasonable settlement within the appropriate time frame, the next step would be filing a case with AAA. America’s Consumer Lawyer will not only put together the necessary paperwork for arbitration, but we will also help you take the next steps in the arbitration process.

UDAAP and Arbitration

UDAAP is an acronym representing laws that prohibit Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices in the context of trade or business. This includes misrepresentation, deception, false advertising, or false promises. These laws emerged following the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act that was enacted in response to the 2008 financial crisis. The ultimate goal with these laws is geared towards protecting consumers involved in financial transactions, educating consumers on their rights, and allowing them access to information and resources to best inform their decisions.

UDAAP laws are regulated by two organizations, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The FTC expanded the initial UDAAP laws in 2004 to include unfair and deceptive acts and practices. Some standards for unfairness, in particular, include if it causes or is likely to cause substantial injury to consumers, the injury is not reasonably avoidable by consumers, and the injury is not outweighed by countervailing benefits to consumers or to competition.

Every state has UDAAP laws, which can vary widely. However, the lawyers at America’s Consumer Lawyer understand these laws and can use them to get compensation for deceptive practices, representing consumers throughout the country in cases of arbitration at no cost to them. The company will not only pay the consumer, but they will also pay my fees as well. The consumer will never pay me a cent.

If you’re dealing with an issue with AT&T, you might try filing a complaint with the BBB or the customer service team with AT&T. Unfortunately, these avenues won’t always lead to a successful resolution for you, the customer. Instead, you may want to consider an experienced arbitration lawyer to take on your case.

Arbitration is a very useful tool for resolving disputes, and America’s Consumer Lawyer can help. With our expert guidance, we bring the big companies to the table and provide the support needed to get your bills corrected, credit reports fixed, improper fees refunded, and more. Let us pick up the sword for you; you have nothing to lose.

How Do I File a Complaint Against AT&T?

We will use your state’s UDAAP law to file a complaint in Arbitration on your behalf at no cost to you. UDAAP laws include misrepresentation, deception, false advertising, or false promises. Under your state’s UDAAP law, you are likely entitled to money damages for your actual damages.  Plus, the other side will pay our fees and costs.  You will not pay us a penny.

I believe Att has been over charging me and misleading me for years. I was mislead to believe that the more lines I had on my plan, the less the monthly would be. That was never the case. My bill was always extremely high and caused me financially burden. Last Nov, before I xfered my service to Verizon, there was a past due of $170, which was on a payment arrangement. Was not able to make the arrangement, but on that Monday, my service was disconnected. In order to reconnect it which was mandatory due to work, I had to pay it. But instead of it being $170, I had to pay 387. Which was paid and services was reconnected. The next day, my service once again got suspended. Which I ended up paying again. I was never warned for the past due nor aware of the exact charges. I’ve tried to fight and dispute the charges I believed were fraudulent with my bank but was denied due to Att. I disconnected and transferred all my lines to Verizon in Nov. but checked Att and still have a very high past due from Dec.

I am writing on behalf of myself and my wife, [SPOUSE\'S NAME], to file a formal complaint against AT&T Wireless for unauthorized billing, failure to properly process a timely device return due to AT&T\'s own system error, misrepresentation by AT&T management, and the subsequent denial of a previously promised resolution. We believe AT&T\'s conduct constitutes unfair and deceptive billing practices in violation of FCC regulations and applicable federal consumer protection law.

A gross violation of PCI DSS standards and a breach of consumer trust, during account setup with AT&T Agent. My bank debit card went missing. I exclaimed, “Where’s my bank card? You, didn’t give me my bank card back—-where is it?” The Agent pulled it out of his pocket and admitted, “I don’t why I put your bank card in my pocket.” My bank, Costco, AT&T and Verizon have been notified. A letter was sent certified mail receipt return Priority at Post Office on 2/17/26. Feel very violated & no longer desire to do business with AT&T.

This matter involves sales misrepresentation by AT&T at-home representatives, who promised to handle device compatibility and pay off the prior carrier account, then took unpaid customer-owned phones and watches, failed to issue the promised compensation or payoff, and caused financial loss and credit damage. We attempted to resolve this by contacting AT&T customer service, at-home sales supervisors David Underwood and Howard Charles, Jaquain Broadwater (who promised resolution within 48 hours), and by sending multiple emails to AT&T corporate offices, but no resolution was provided.

My mom is 92 years old and wants to cancel her AT&T phone (landline) but they will not cancel it, they keep billing her. She has a backlog of bills, and a dispute about when her landline stopped working. Can anyone help her sort this out and get her out of AT&T’s clutches? Thank you.

My name is Oliver Jethwani, and I am a New Jersey consumer with a long-held AT&T prepaid mobile number, (201) 286-2867, which I used for more than a decade for banking, 2FA, business, and family contacts. In May 2022, after calling AT&T’s 800 customer service number to add funds to my prepaid account, AT&T processed my payment and sent me a text (SMS) explicitly confirming that my service and number would be extended. Despite that written confirmation, AT&T then prematurely terminated and reassigned my number to a stranger and has refused to restore it. When I complained, I encountered stonewalling and shifting explanations (e.g., internal policy, 3G shutdown, etc.) that directly conflict with the clear SMS extension and what a reasonable consumer would understand. The loss of this long-standing number has caused significant disruption: locked and compromised access to financial and online accounts (2FA), lost business and personal contacts, and substantial time and stress trying to remediate the damage. I believe this conduct violates: • The New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, N.J.S.A. 56:8-1 et seq. (unconscionable commercial practices, misrepresentations, and knowing omissions); • AT&T’s contract and the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing; and • Federal communications law, including unjust and unreasonable practices under 47 U.S.C. § 201(b) and related FCC policies on fair treatment of customers and number reassignment. Because the prepaid terms, expiry rules, and number-recycling practices appear to be standardized and automated, I am concerned this is not an isolated incident but a systemic pattern affecting many prepaid customers. In addition to my individual arbitration, I see potential for broader relief via coordinated mass arbitration and/or future class treatment for similarly situated consumers. Under the NJCFA’s mandatory treble-damages and fee-shifting framework, I believe my actual and consequential losses make this an economically viable case in at least the mid-five-figure range (or higher) once trebling and attorneys’ fees are taken into account. I am currently preparing to bring an individual arbitration against AT&T based on these facts. If your firm is not conflicted (i.e., you do not represent AT&T or otherwise have a conflict of interest), please treat this as an attorney–potential client inquiry and let me know whether you would be willing to evaluate my case individually and/or as a potential vehicle for mass arbitration and or class action for broader relief.

Back on sept.5 I signed up for postpaid account. Senior plane that was suppose to be 40.00 a month and a new phone on monthly payment under 6.00 I received a email that my bill would be 89.00 a month. I went to them and they would not help. went to t mobile on sept 6 and got a phone and senior plan for 45.00. Had my number transferred to t mobile. My at and t account was closedown sept 7. Ihad 14 day to return phone to at ant which i did on 9-8-25 and they recieved it on 9/10/25. But they still are charging for the phone i don\'t have any more and called many many times and just get the run around. I did pay the bill today for 224.74 so that it would not end up on my credit report. But I do plan on continuing to fight with them to get my money back for the phone they have. If necessary i will get ksat in San Antonio and writ complaint to attorney general office. What are my options?

In February 2025, AT&T representatives promised to buy out my Comcast contract. However, instead of doing so, Comcast billed me nearly $2,000 and sent the account to collections. Because of this, my business was put in jeopardy. When I contacted AT&T, I was ignored, and later a supervisor informed me that the representatives involved were not in their system — indicating a potential case of fraud. Due to AT&T’s negligence and the issue they created, I stopped paying AT&T. If this situation had not occurred, I would have continued paying Comcast as normal. I am seeking **$890** from AT&T to cover the collections caused by their representatives, plus an additional **$3,000** for the damages and stress this situation has caused. If the issue is not resolved, I will proceed to take the matter to court.

Cannot obtain transfer/port out pin from ATT. I had to get a new provider because I couldn\'t get service at my residence with ATT. I called ATT with my new number from Verizon to get a port out number, but they said I had to do it online. So I tried to get it online but they needed a verification pin that they would send to my old phone number and did not have a choice to have it E mailed to me. I did not have my old phone because Verizon told me to return the new phone I bought from ATT because it was still locked. So they are breaking an FCC law. Now I\'ll have to inform people, banks and any service I use, of my new phone number, that would need a verification pin. There are to many to remember to go to in advance, besides the banks of course. And the verification requirement would pop up all of the time. I would have to go to the banks and others, show ID and give them my pass code to change my verification pin to be able to do any banking online. I am 65 disabled due to near fatal accident on the job. coma, traction etc. Daily activity has been very limited by the physician\'s. I\'ve tried T Mobile worked up till recently then ATT and now Verizon, which works ok, all in the last 3 weeks.

Prepared for: Legal Review and Strategic Filing Client(s): Josh Wilkins & Bradlee Moose (Wilkins) Prepared Date: June 2, 2025 1. CASE OVERVIEW This case involves serious misconduct by AT&T resulting in the unauthorized port-out of the plaintiff’s primary phone number, illegal service continuation and billing, negligent customer service responses during emergencies, privacy violations, and long-term financial and emotional damages. The plaintiffs, acting in good faith, made repeated attempts to resolve the issue through AT&T’s internal channels, the FCC, and customer service without success. Evidence demonstrates deception, negligence, and ongoing harm to their professional and personal life. Formal demands and regulatory complaints have already been submitted. ⸻ 2. TIMELINE OF KEY EVENTS (From “AT&T Timeline.pdf”) • Oct 2022: Client’s phone number is ported out without authorization during emergency response efforts. • Nov 2022 – Jan 2023: Multiple calls made to AT&T, often with false assurances or confusion regarding account access, port reversal, and billing. • Feb 2023: Continued billing despite termination requests; identity was compromised and SSN detected on the dark web. • May 2023: FCC complaint filed. • June – Oct 2023: AT&T responses were delayed, evasive, or contradictory. • Nov 14, 2023: Formal rebuttal sent to FCC including supporting documentation. • Dec 2023 – Mar 2024: AT&T continues to bill, damages escalate including emotional distress and inability to use services. • April 2024 – May 2024: Rebuttal ignored; secondary complaint filed with the Office of the President. • June 2024: Demand letters submitted; no resolution. ⸻ 3. EVIDENCE SUMMARY • Recordings of AT&T calls confirming admission of porting error, miscommunication, and confusion from representatives. • Emails and PDFs from FCC and Office of the President demonstrating attempted resolution and lack of proper closure. • Dark Web Alert document showing SSN exposure following AT&T’s negligence. • Demand Letters (2) detailing damages, timeline, and requested remedies. • Photo and document evidence of financial harm, communications, and emotional distress indicators. • FCC Letter & Rebuttal clearly show the issue was mishandled by both AT&T and regulatory bodies, supporting claims of continued negligence. ⸻ 4. VIOLATIONS & DAMAGES Potential Legal Violations Identified: • Unauthorized Porting (SIM Swap Fraud): Clear breach of federal communication security regulations. • Consumer Protection Violations: Deceptive billing, failure to cancel account after formal request. • Negligent Misrepresentation: AT&T provided false confirmations and failed to act on them. • Privacy Breach: Resulting in SSN exposure on the dark web. • Emotional & Economic Damages: Missed work, inability to receive emergency services, mental health toll. • Breach of Contract & Failure to Deliver Services: Charging for services not rendered. Documented Harm: • Loss of access to primary business and emergency contact number. • Financial losses from double billing and unresolved accounts. • Significant emotional distress supported by written communication and recordings. • Exposure to identity theft risks due to compromised information. ⸻ 5. LEGAL DEMAND & RELIEF REQUESTED (from “Demand letter ATT.pdf” and updated version) • Total damages claimed: $57 million, negotiable through settlement if immediate resolution and all costs (including legal and emotional) are covered. • Alternative resolutions include: • Cease and desist on all collections and account activity. • Letter of apology and acknowledgment of wrongdoing. • Statutory compensation for privacy breach, unauthorized port, and damages. • Removal of all false reports or black marks from credit/records.

Type of Case: Misrepresentation / Fraud / Unfair Business Practices Defendant: AT&T Wireless Estimated Damages: ~$3,000 Desired Outcome: Full cancellation of plan with no device charges, removal of collections/delinquency, and potential damages for misleading business practices. Background: I opened a business phone plan with AT&T while working as an over-the-road truck driver. The initial in-store agreement was for: A phone plan (with a phone I already owned and paid off). An unlimited data mobile hotspot. $270/month for everything—unlimited usage, no overages, no installment payments. Issue Timeline: First bill: ~$2,000 (WAY above expected). They claimed I exceeded a 100GB limit, but I was promised unlimited data. After I complained, they “waived” the charges and “upgraded” me to true unlimited, again confirming it would stay at ~$270/month. Next bill: Still over $300. I called again and was told they could lower my monthly to $210 through a promotional offer—but I had to add a Galaxy tablet. I explicitly asked multiple times: Will this actually lower my bill? What will the tablet cost? Will I be locked into anything? I was reassured: The tablet costs ~$100 total (not a fancy model). My monthly will absolutely go down to $210. The offer would save me $60/month. New job – no longer needed the hotspot. I tried to cancel everything to save money. I was then told: I would have to pay the full remaining price for both the hotspot and the tablet. Even though I was told the tablet was free/promotional. And even if I returned the devices, I’d still owe the full cost (~$3,000). My Position: I was repeatedly misled and baited into agreements under false pretenses. I was given verbal agreements that were not honored. I attempted to return the equipment and cancel, but they refused unless I paid full price for items I was told were free or included. I have not used the devices and am being pursued for unfair charges. I believe this qualifies as fraud, deceptive practices, and possibly breach of verbal contract or consumer protection laws. What I\'m Seeking: A lawyer who can: Take the case on contingency or no-win-no-fee. Has experience suing phone companies for misrepresentation or consumer fraud. Complete debt forgiveness/cancellation of plan. Potential damages or class action inclusion if applicable.

I had a line added under my business account without my knowledge or understanding. I called in and had it removed and worked out what happened to get me to this situation. I lost a phone and went in to get a replacement and new sim card. I told the rep I wanted to buy a phone outright and get my sim cloned in the new phone. The rep acknowledged what I wanted then went off. He returned with the requested A15 (cheapest phone based on RETAIL instore price) had me make sure the sim worked and was off. My bill jumped to $150 as I was paying off the phone. A few months later my bill went from $70ish to over $200. This was when I discovered the added line. I called ATT multiple time showed up instore and had the instore Manager and CS rep on the phone that disconnected the line, both tell me that the rep probably added the line to pad his numbers. This represents fraud and the company accepting responsibility for said fraud. Fast forward from 11/20/24 to present. I just recently went in store last week Tuesday and spoke with another in store rep that again agreed that the first rep was padding numbers, so again accepting the accusation of fraud. This conversation was when I was told ATT does not and has never sold phones out right or provided warranty replacements instore. So I was misled the entire time. I had a number added that I had no way to access or even know existed due to not creating an att acount. ATT never sent a billing statement with a breakdown. I spent last week speaking with 4 different departments to find out that fraud has its own website form fill. I was offered compensation at 2 different levels, 1 of which stipulated I then couldn\'t submit the fraud case. I rejected and submitted the fraud case thinking this was an easy fix. It was denied and they sent me a letter with the reps name on it as it was attached to the account. How much easier a win do we need here?

I was promised a free phone in exchange for my old phone. The new phone they said was 1,000 dollars and my old phone was worth 1,000 trade in. However, my bill went up some 50 dollars. I paid off the remaining balance of 275 dollars or so. So my phone bill should have been around 160. Now it is 220 dollars. They lied on their promise.

I am seeking legal representation regarding a situation involving AT&T and their in-home services division. In brief, a representative from AT&T visited my home during the installation of fiber internet and offered me a deal. The details of this offer were presented both in writing (handwritten) and via an audio recording. Unfortunately, AT&T has not honored the terms of the deal, and I have been dealing with ongoing issues for over four months. Despite repeated attempts to resolve this matter, the representative and his supervisors have altered the terms and promotions originally described during the signup process. While one of the major issues has been corrected, three remain unresolved. AT&T’s representatives continue to reinterpret the discussions, despite my providing them with detailed transcriptions, original audio recordings, and written correspondence as evidence. I believe this situation constitutes fraudulent misrepresentation and feel legal intervention may be necessary to hold AT&T accountable. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss my case with you and explore how you might assist in addressing this matter. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

i have a older plan with ATT and because I upgraded my phone to an iphone 14 pro max 2 years ago i notice it uses the data faster and more. When i called att they said because I am in a grandfather plan and to get the full affect i need to upgrade to there new plans. this is horrible. they excuse is because all the new phones need more data and services. I feel like att should accommodate this especially if we have been with them almost 20 years. Is this something that can be sued for.

I had called ATT to transfer my corporate phone line with ATT to my brother\'s family plan with ATT. Instead they transferred my line to some rando and that rando cancelled my line. I don\'t even know this rando. They didn\'t take my permission. They didn\'t take permission from this rando. Now I have spent 6 hours on the phone with ATT customer support, and went to the ATT store, but they are NOT able to reinstate my phone line. Now I run the risk of losing my phone number of 10 years. Want to sue them for mental torture, harassment, negligence, privacy invasion, in-competence and fraud. Let me know if you would be interested. Thanks!

I have some billing dispute with AT&R since 2018 for 7-mobile lines, but during the process of settle the dispute AT&T broke several laws: Discriminatory Behavior, Service Contract Issue, Refund Discrepancy, Specific Billing Details, Truth in Billing Act, Telecommunications Act of 1996, Civil Rights Act and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Regulations. As a result, I also reported to the FCC and still AT&T is out of control. Please call me or send me an email to discuss. I live in California. Thanks, Nadeem

I accidentally damaged my phone and had to get a second one. I explained that the first phone is not functional to the point to where you could do nothing with it. It\'s too expensive to fix because it\'s was damaged by myself on accident so I\'d have to pay for repairs that I couldn\'t afford. So, I\'m stuck with this phone that doesn\'t work and being billed for a line that I\'ve never used. My bill doubled in price so I decided to go to another carrier. When their agent tried to port my number from AT&T it flagged me with a fraud protection saying that I wasn\'t who I said I was, even after just verifying my account minutes before! It\'s been 4 days now and everyday I\'m losing wages because my work is through my phone! I\'ve emailed CEO John Stankey, I\'ve filed a complaint with FCC and called AT&T multiple times trying to get this resolved! Please help me!?

AT&T lost my phone number due to an administrative error on their side and we\'re now in the first stages of the arbitration process with AAA. AT&T is now offering me a settlement but think it\'s too low, please advise.

My Fiber optic line was temporaily fixed by AT&T back in October of 2023, I have called a lot trying to get them to finish the fix as they have left a \"ditch\" running through my backyard with all the rain we have gotten it has been filled with standing water and a ton of water bugs all in it now. We are doing some renovations in our backyard and once I lay new sod down they will not be digging that up and I have put off laying sod because of them.....I have requested a manager from the bury line department through AT&T to call me, I have waited months, 8 months to be exact. Should not take this long nor should I have my backyard a hot mess all this time either. They marked job completed when it was not completed. We did finally fill in the \"ditch\" running through my backyard, as we have dogs, and they go straight to that area, bringing all the mud into my house. I am fed up with trying to get this completed. I want to speak with a manager and have them see what they show completed to ask him why this job was marked completed and it\'s not. No return phone call, not once and I have left many messages for a call back. They sent someone to my house without calling, but I was at work, they are not allowed on my property until I speak with someone over this but they can\'t seem to have a manager call me back. How do I go about getting this done, when they don\'t call me back?

I am reaching out to seek guidance on how to proceed with a series of unresolved issues I\'ve been experiencing with AT&T over the past year. Despite multiple assurances from AT&T representatives that my concerns were resolved, the problems persist, and I continue to face erroneous charges. Here is a summary of the issues: Account Migration Issues: I was advised to move my phone lines from a business account to a personal account to reduce my bill. However, only a few lines were transferred, and I am now being billed for two separate accounts. Despite repeated requests, AT&T has not moved my last phone number to the personal account. Unwarranted Charges: I was informed that consolidating all four lines on the personal account would qualify me for a discount. Unfortunately, this has not been implemented. Unauthorized Additions: Recently, two unauthorized lines were added to my business account, resulting in additional charges for services I did not request or receive. I spend approximately four hours each month on the phone with AT&T attempting to resolve these issues. Each time, I am told that the problem is fixed, but no changes occur, and I receive no follow-up communication. Given the ongoing nature of these problems, I am uncertain of the next steps to take and whether there are additional options available to resolve these matters. Your assistance in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your guidance on how to proceed.

I intend to sue AT&T for breach of a verbal contract, Corporate Bullying, and mental anguish. There is a lot more to the story that wasn\'t in the last message. I would like to know my rights and to retain a contingency attorney for representation.

AT&T talked me into renewing my contract under the guise of lower payments along with a \'free\' cell phone. They failed to disclose the $25.00 per line \'fine\' for each of my three cell phones. When I signed up in November my bill was suppose to come in around $120 per month and it\'s averaged $350.00. Please keep in mind that two of these phone are for very small businesses. I underwent a series of difficulties since 2020 and the lock down. Last year my landlord of 17 years had promised to renew my lease, but for an entire year refused to divulge the new rent rate. Then when it came time for renewal he more than doubled the rent and told me to get out. So I was left without my business phone from August til November when I was forced into a new contract. On 1/2/24 my husband was hit and killed by a car which left me mentally and emotionally paralized. AT&T is saying that they can not release my two phone numbers and neither of the phones is recieving incoming calls. I don\'t even have a phone for my main business as I returned their \'free\' phone and they will not release the number for me to make that happen until I pay their usurious cancellation fees. I have been struggling to simply make ends meet and can not afford this. This is not the first time they have \'shut my business down\'. In 2007 I moved my business and spent around 40 hours on the phone with AT&T to facilitate taking my number with me as it is the life line to my business for my bridal and formal customers. After I moved I discovered that they were going to charge me around (forgive me it\'s been a long time, but I do have all the records.) .35 cents per call. I might get up to 90 calls in one day. The bridal business is very expensive to operate and doesn\'t allow for margins that would be necessary to support this unethical, undisclosed usurious fee. So I had to get over $5000 in marketing supplies reprinted when I chose a new number, very similar to the last. Later I discovered that they when someone called my old number they were directed to other bridal shops who were willing to pay the .35 to have a client. Now they are demanding $350 per line to release each of my three phone numbers.

January 2020 Wife signed up for an offer that allowed her to upgrade her new phone. Somehow we ended up with billing for 3 phone numbers, but just two phones. This is on auto-bill on a credit card. In April thru may I spent slightly over 24 hours of time on hold and in conversations with agents and billing \"experts\" to get the orphaned phone numbers off the bill, all that comes of it is we loose the promotion and pay for the free phone in full, and a third number not attached to a phone. In november of 2022 I start trying to fix this again by moving to a new carrier. In november I pay the final bill and attempt to move my number to ting. AT&T won\'t release the number, so I try again with both ting and AT&T support, it fails again. I have a new ting number, so I turn off my personal AT&T number I have had for more than 15 years. In january I move my wife\'s phone, after another round of trying to pay the final AT&T bill. Then, when all phones are on tine, I call at&t again to close the account and pay the final bill. Again this account was always on credit card auto-bill, so to get to the point I can accumulate unpaid bills, they have to terminate the account to the point the auto-bill is also disconnected. Then, like a ghose the account pops up again, and AT&T collection agents tell me I have a phone account, I tell them the account is closed,we go \'round and round. The problem is AT&T lost this phone number billing account, and no matter how many times they try to kill it, it comes back. Consumers can turn off a telephone, but no one can turn off a zhombi AT&T phone liner that was never connected to anything. I have paid this bill, but I was unfairly damaged by this and now they have marked my credit for the next 7 years. My credit is worth a lot more than the puny $600 bill, I want to pay the money to get this corrected. I need to be able to refinance my house if rated drop, and having to wait 7 years could cost me $10\'s of thousands.

I prefer to speak with someone, AT&T committed fraud , lied , and basically stolen money due back to me when I canceled the cable install the day of service tech arrival- when.told I have to pay additional $100 - the entire process includes having ( no choice) to buy another phone, has been a total nightmare- I still haven\'t received my initial 100$ for the install- it much much more - I was so highly upset, I spent a day reaching to find the president of AT&T ph - I was contacted by the Presidents executive secretary- who said he would take care of everything- I have EVERYTHING in correspondence in email- I went to several AT& A stores I have all their correspondence on email.- I almost went to jail because I was furious- they lied , made me buy a phone, when I already had phone service, they haven\'t returned my deposit, the ex secretary said they would Lowe my bill and get my refund- and on and on - but that\'s only an outline description of the absolute outrageous nightmare- as there is a lot more than what I have outlined- I would be writing a book to go over all the details- I was going to go to the state attorneys office, the lies and bait and switch to make me cut my ph service and why I.had to do that was a flat out lie , I mean this whole process has been a horror movie, literally- and I have it all documented in emails - please call

Good morning, I was flying back to Fort Lauderdale on a friday and I got an email in June of 2023 from ATT. The order stated that I ordered an Iphone 13 so I quickly called to try and explain it was not me and it was fraud. I spoke to multiple people including 2 supervisors before I got out of the airport and I was not able to cancel my order. I was told that I had to call the fraud department which was closed at the time since my flight landed after 7pm that friday evening. The phone got delivered the next day to a vacant house in Lakeland and I tried to get the real estate broker who listed the home to try and intercept the phone which he was not able to do. I called att fraud that tuesday and tried to report it and sent in my police report and my ID and all the information I needed but in the end they did not accept my vehicle registration as proof of my address. In the end they cancelled the account for non payment and now my credit is being affected. I tried to get ATT to cancel this fraudulent order but they refused to do it so I think its best to sue. This has been lots of pain and suffering because I have a perfect credit history and this is the only thing on my credit thats negative.

I paid per payment arrangement with ATT and they still suspended my services. I have proof of payments and even spoke with Toan Nguyen who is the office of the president and said that because they didn\'t get my $1 payment on the 29th of December is the reason i got suspended. I paid $150 on 12/28/2023 and $1 on 12/28/2023. Im getting the run around and I don\'t deserve this stress and complications

Heard the iphone 15 was shipping within months. Went to our local store to order my daughters christmas gift in September. It was delivered in October. I wrapped it and she activated it on Christmas day (11 days ago). We went on vacation and she determined she didn\'t like the camera. We got home and transferred back to her old phone. Yesterday, I started calling customer service and visited 3 stores in our area. I have been on hold for over 90 minutes last night, 30 minutes today and not another 30 this afternoon. Every person is telling me I\'m out of my 14 day window because the device was delivered in October, however the store I purchased it from (along with all the others) say it is 14 days from activation. I can\'t believe the stories I\'m beingt told. This is crazy. Unless they were recorded, I\'m not sure you would believe it either. Can you help or do I need to let it go?

Months ago I added 3 lines of service and 2 watches under the lies that 1 I wouldn’t be charged any of the huge fees, any fees paid I’d be refunded and one of the watches monthly bill would be refunded. I have receipts where all of this was lies one month recently I paid over $5000 literally my bills reflect what I’m saying. My phones have all been shut off and when I looked through all my bills I noticed a missing $929 payment hadn’t been applied to my account at all whatsoever. Literally I paid $929.00 November 10 and an additional $860 November 14 of same month and only $860 was applied. We are military veterans and retired first responders and my dad is an 78 yr old Vietnam Vet. We rely on our phones to get him meds and needed supplies. I’m respectfully asking for help! I can receive texts and no calls unfortunately until this is resolved. Thank you all

We are continuously being charged fees not as advertsed by AT&T on promotions, and charged fees we did not request such as \"Protective\" plans. It has been over a year that we have to call every month for them to apply credits advertised and remove items we did not request. It is such a waist of time to the consumer.

I closed an account with AT&T and kept receiving bills that were charged on my credit card as I had set up automatic payments. This continued for months. I finally canceled my credit card and am now being notified that I will be sent to collections if I do not pay the balance.

I receive a text twice a month saying my bill is past due. I pay at least 150 once or twice a month (yet my monthly plan is less than that amount) and if I don\'t pay my service is shut off and I have to pay an additional fee. This has been going on for far too long and I can\'t seem to get help or answers. I have paid thousands more than any human should ever pay for cell service and I am desperate for help.

I am military was sent overseas. I had two phone lines with AT&T in 2019. One hadn’t been used in awhile. I called AT&T to suspend my lines prior to me leaving for Korea. I left. Come to find out both lines were not suspended. I was being charged for 16months for a line not in use. They told me I needed to pay it before they suspended it. I told them I would sue them when I got back. I made a report with the BBB. AT&T rep reached out once and I left several voicemails to no avail. Now a collection agency is trying to collect the debt. I have email records of me reaching out to AT&T as well as my military orders sending me to Korea. Do I have a case?

After a long meeting, we somewhat hesitantly accepted AT&T as our provider. They were more expensive than our current provider, but splitting what was to be a $180 bill seemed manageable. Karli’s phone did not work from day 1 and had to be taken care of. Staci has been having many problems with her phone. My phones are not as described. I was terrified when I received two summaries in the mail: One said: Upcoming bill $235.32, ongoing monthly bill $171.99 BUT the other read: Upcoming bill $1083.50. Ongoing monthly bill $728.35; We were on auto pay. When the first bill arrived, it nearly emptied my bank account. withdrawn Jan 2 $663.21 We had now paid AT&T and excess of $1100 I’ve heard about scams for older people. I now wondered if I was a part of one. I turn 76 in 6 days. I have social security and a bit of teachering retirement. I do a lot to support my three grandchildren, much with food, school fees, activity fees, dance, theater, kungfu. I also use my son’s (mechanic says it’s on its last legs) van and my 2002 Stratus which needs the mechanic on a monthly basis! Many tires, and many repairs! withdrawn (paid) Jan 2 663.21 Feb 2 312.51 Mar 2 311.96 apr 2 234.41 may 2 261.36 june 2 261.36 The bills have been inconsistent, and are quite high–not as represented. I would be overjoyed to be free of AT&T! I don’t know if that is possible without taking out a loan! The red phone has not been used at all! It was represented as having a great camera, and it does not. I don’t know what options I have with that phone. The bill is supposed to be the same for four phones as for five, so deactivating it may not make a difference even if I was still paying $5/month. There are other problems. I have written notes and gathered all my bills and have copies. If this is something you can help me with, I can mail the copies to you. I was so delighted to find companies (found only 3) that will take on AT&T. When I saw Georgia, I thought of the bravery of your state in the current political situation and was very encouraged! AT&T is trying to charge me for what Walmart told me is for free. In October 2022, I asked a Walmart associate in a Walmart store what is the cheapest prepaid SIM card/plan I can buy. He told me I can get one for free for 3 months and cancel it before it becomes a regular pay per month mobile service. I took it since it was free without knowing what that company was. He told me in order to transfer my phone number, he needed some of my info including email address, I cannot remember if he asked for physical address. When he put the SIM card into my phone, I saw on the phone screen the mobile network provider was AT&T. After about 1 month, the mobile network service abruptly stopped, so I bought a different prepaid SIM card/plan from a different company. I started receiving series of emails from AT&T saying I have a bill to pay in the order of $190. I clicked on the link to check what\'s going on since it was supposed to be free and last for 3 months like the Walmart associate said, not cost $190 and last for 1 month like it turned out to be. On the AT&T page, there was the dollar amount how much I need to pay without explaining what it is that I am asked to pay for (like the name of the plan, plan details like the included number of minutes, etc). In general, $190 seems like a huge amount to pay for 1 month of service, the prepaid plans I was paying throughout my years living in the U.S. costed around $15/month or less if it\'s a promo deal. I disregarded the emails thinking to myself I would never use AT&T service in the future as they act like some internet scamming company. AT&T continued harassing me with emails to pay $190 bill. In March 2023, I started receiving more threatening kind of emails from AT&T stating they will contact the collecting agency to enforce the charge and it would impact my Credit Score. Then it was followed by a series of emails stating it\'s the Final Notice to resolve the issue and I need to pay immediately.

AT&T knowingly lied to me about services that they could provide and convinced me to sign up over the phone by telling me that they had what I needed and if something went wrong then all I had to do was cancel within 14 days with no charges. After about three days, I had realized they lied to me and immediately canceled the service expecting the promise of a 14 day trial period. This was over a year ago and over the past year. I have talked to several people at AT&T, two of them whom apologized and promised to remove the charges. Obviously that didn’t happen since I am contacting you they lied about canceling the charges and continue to bill me.

We have had a business account with AT&T for over 18 months. AT&T has falsely and wrongfully suspended and cancelled our account without notice on Sunday Dec 11th. Their customer service have not substantiated their decision. We are adamant that AT&T is at fault and making this decision based on false allegations. Despite multiple documetned calls and notices sent, AT&T is bullying us by not releasing our own telephone numbers against FCC rules and consumer protection ACTs. We have notified AT&T in 4 documented notices of damages of up to $50,000 per day should they decide nto to cooperate releasing our telephone numbers that were originally ported to AT&T for a 2 years contract as of 2021-06-30 We need your help to build a decent lawsuit case against AT&T as we are adamant on this case.
