I had been summoned to court with Credit Acceptance Corp last year and went to arbitration, under the impression I was going straight to court, and I was pretty much coerced into signing a contract they knew I could not afford to settle up. Old habits die new, huh? I\'ll say now that I thought they weren\'t able to sue me to begin with since the contract was outside of the Statute of Limitations in Iowa, where I went to court, and I wanted to bring that up to the arbitrator but they were both talking a mile a minute and I have mad panic disorder and was already freaking out because I was overstimulated and being talked into a corner. To the point, I just received an email today stating that they are pressing for wage garnishment, which, again, I can\'t afford. I just need help getting these assholes off my own ass, I already have one asshole and it\'s enough. Please shoot me back an email if you think you can help. Thank you.

Credit acceptance repoed my car, I paid to have it released , called customer service to see how much it was to pay it off, they informed me the amount I then proceeded to pay it off, they told me congratulations on paying off my car and I would receive my title by mail within 30 days. I never got my title , they called me about 15 days after the 30 day mark to tell me that I still owed them money from my repossession and my car was not paid off, because of a fee.

When I bought a car from this car lot, it was selling for $3000 , and was told if I could not pay cash that it would have to be financed along with $500 cash down. I told him I have very good credit, and could pay the $500 doan and make payments, but that did not matter. H said the total amount with the $500 down would be a total of $5000 in all. Then he proceded to call this finance company wihich was credit acceptance. They did not speak with me at all in reference to how much they charge to finance the car, so he was on the phone with them just a few mins, and wrote up the total amount it would come to.Then he told me my monthly payment would be $224 a month. I told him my only income was SSI and he told credit acceptnace the same thing while I heard just a few things over the phone he was telling credit acceptance. So I am thinking the total amount would be as he stated $5000 along with the finance fee from credit acceptance.When I got home I was having some health issues and I did not read the car lot paperwork, and a week and a half later ,I received papers from credit acceptance So since I was not feeling well for a while I read their paperwork later. All i could understand is the car lot had paper work detailing all the work he had done to the car, and he charged $275 for selling me a car and his total amount came to $6,200 Could not understand what credit acceptance finance fee was and I thin now that I looked over things again after reading online about their illegal actions and what they was being sued for , I decided to file a complaint and let the Fraud department look at all my sell papers. Now there was a car accident , where some wreck less driver ran me off the road and I hit a tree. So Progressive claim adjuster came out and I told them from the beginning that the driver kept going , so I do not know who it was that forced me off the road and I have rods in both my upper arms, to where I had to turn quick to the right and the person caused me to have to make a quick turn to the right and ran off the road. But I had collision and liability with Progressive Ins. The adjuster was outside a long time sitting in his car and came back and told showed me the amount of damage and totaled the car, which is a 2000 chevolet suburban .That was selling for $3000 and end up costing me almost $7000.Then the claim man that I called and talked with said that credit acceptance would get $4,500 because I was still making payments on the car. And I would get $1,700 when the car was paid off , and it had to be paid off within a 3 three period. I then called credit acceptance and ask them why do you all get the damage to the vehicle that I am paying insurance for, the first lady said that belongs to you and I told her what progressive said that it goes to them, so I called Mr. Duffeck claim man back and told him what she said, and he said it belongs to them. I called credit acceptance back again and the second lady said it belongs to us and that Progressive wanted the car we get the $4,500.So I ended up getting zero amount. Months later I decided to switch insurance companies , which the new one told me why my just liability was running close to $500 alone on the suburban. She said progressive had me down as the accident was my fault even though there was no police report taken, because the other person kept going ,I did not have no other person too report, so I did not see the need to call the police. She also told me that $4,500 was paid out and $700 bodily damage, which I never reported any injury to me. She told me to call my insurance company they know who all it was paid too.Oh and when I talk with credit acceptance about why they get the $4,500 . they said it would be deducted from the amount I owe on the car, so nothin was deducted as far as I could see the months that went by. Progressive told me two weeks ago that credit acceptance refused to take the $4,500 and I forgot to ask him at that time about the $700 bodily damage and where that amount period came from when I did not report any damage to my body. I was just going through a lot of stress concernig all that went on with the sell of the car total amount and now all this, which I am on stress medication now.I believe the car lot, progressive ins. and credit acceptance where apart of illegal actions. Also I changed my direct withdrawal of the car payment from the third of the month to the forth of the month, they wanted me to make the third of the month payment and the 4th of the month for that same month I paid for two payments for that month. And they added $15 late fee each month, because I could not afford to do that they sent it to my credit. I had good credit before all this happen with them, and they suppose to help people with bad credit. I looked at there paperwork last week again, and it had down there that credit acceptance did not use your credit. now i refused to pay for January, Because the lady name Caprice when I talked with her last week said this, she got my complaint from that area of the fraud department I assumed and she acted like she did not know about the $4,500 progressive said they would not take, then she said if that was paid to them, then will I you be satisfied that the car would be paid for, that sharked me, so I did not have time to think about they would owe me, because I was just stressed out,and do not remember if I said yes, because she ended the conversation so fast. She did not call me back the next day like she said she would. So I called back to speak with her, I made the call to credit acceptance period because, in the complaint made to the attorney general fraud dept, they ask if I had contacted them about the situation before making the complaint ,so I needed to do that, but I had made the compliant to fraud before I contacted them, after hearing they would not accept the money from progressive. I am thinkng also, If they would have given it to me , since it was my car damage I could had paid the $3,100 they kept telling me about and asking over and over if I was still not working and on S.S.I. I even asked him why do he keep asking me that the each times he asked, so I thought he was thinking I was not going to make the payments, instead of telling me the truth, now that I know why he was asking over and over from what I have now read online what all they did to low income people. progressive claim man has not returned any of my calls in reference to the false bodily damage, the $4,500 to me since they did not take it from the beginning of the claim, and he did not contact me to even let me know they did not take, after demanding it belonged to them. And when I returned a call she left on my answering phone to call her, I could speak with her and the first lady said I will let you speak with someone else, so I said no, I want to speak with the lady name Caprice that told me to call her back. She still switched me with someone else, and I told her Miss Caprice wanted me to call her back, and she said hold a min. and they said she will call you back in three days. never heard from Miss Caprice again. I only got call from credit acceptance asking for a payments and saying it will cost me know $3,800 to pay the car off. And that includes I assume the extra payment that they put on my credit and theirs and January payment I refused to pay, anything else while this case is being handled.I ended up with illegal high payments being on S.S I. and no money in the damage of my car and they refuse it after demanding the $4,500 and high interest rates, not using my credit, that they now messed up. all this stress they have been sending me through and false bodily pain I never reported. This black guy that called asking if I was still not working was actually awning over the phone when I told him I did not owe anything, so since he acted the way he did, I told him , he can talk with my attorney, and he kept calling back but I did not pick up. So this is where we are at this point. I need an Attorney to solve this matter. The vehicle had to be taken back the next day or two after purchase, and now it does not run period. Thank you, Oh and the paper work indicating all he fixed on the car, was not signed by the person that I assume fixed over 30 issues. And do not know why he would even put that in my sell papers, because lets me think you were up to getting extra money and to cover up something because it does not run at all now.And did you try to charge me $6,200 and $275, for just selling me the car a fee I never heard of, all his illegal actions with credit acceptance. The named some of the car lots that shared money with each other in these car deals and against low income people. I think that is it and need assistance as quick as possible, because I will not make not one more payment to those crooks.

My fiance and I bought a 2016 Cadillac we were both were on the full coverage insurance totallying $35,000 payback.It was almost a year ago Mark was driving we had a Hurricane where everyone had to be off the the road at 4:30 Mark was clipped by a Semi that didn\'t stop. Now almost a year later plus my $3,000 deown payment plus 2 payments Plus the dwon payment insurance and 2 payments on the car and insurancwe Dear old Credit Acceptance finance company wands another $4,000. I cannot afford to keep missing work Mark keeps missing work and the Judge oredered mediation 4 Months ago now that hasn\'t happened now its going to Trial March 4th in Brevard County fl Will you please help us. I had got a van for them a year ago and I mad all my payment even my mom made some payments and they claimed they didn\'t get the payments. Couple months later my heat started making weird sounds and they didn\'t say nothing. Then the breaks when out and the windshield motor went out and almost got in a car accident. The I gave back the car and the sued me for more than what the car is worth. I called credit acceptance multiple times and they said they can\'t help with fixing the car but they wanted they money. So why would I pay for a car at the time if you would help. I did did pay out of pocket to get the brakes and windshield motor fix. It was $250 for labor plus $200 for the parts. Credit acceptance is lies about they cars.

Since I had to get rid of my previous vehicle I had to hurry and find a reliable one to get me back and forth to work and really important Dr appointments I needed to be at. Due to having no credit at all I was only able to get approved for an auto loan with credit acceptance and my actual loan was less then $10,000 and I new my financing fee would be a lot since I had no credit but never once did they tell me it would be more then my actual car loan and I would end up owing over $21,000 for it. Fast forward 6 months, been making my $320 payments on time and my car just stopped accelerating as I’m driving to work (at this point I had 2 jobs plus Dr appointments). Got it to a shop and of course the warranty company fought everything, I called Credit Acceptance customer service since the warranty company I was paying for wouldn’t do anything and the girl actually seemed sympathetic, she definitely had me fooled because she completely lied to me and seemed so sincere as she apologized and said she understood what I was going through then she told me to wait a few days and my warranty company will deny the claim, once they do call back and they’d work with me and get me into a more reliable vehicle. I did what I was told and called when my claim was denied the girl ended up transferring me to a supervisor that was rude and inconsiderate and even after I brought up how I was lied to, with no hesitation she said “I don’t why she said that but oh well it’s not our problem you’re still responsible for your loan if you don’t make the payment we’ll send it collections for the full amount” So basically I’m expected to pay $21,000 for a car that was worth less than $10,000 and didn’t even last a year. What they’re doing to people isn’t right and I’m about to lose everything I worked so hard for, please help me

I got a car loan with them that was for $10,000 with $1500 down. I went from what was supposed to be a loan for $8500 to owing $13,000 right off the bat! Additionally, when I wasn\'t able to make a payment, they\'d call between 5-8 times a day, including Sundays. They finally took the car and I\'m glad cause I won\'t be dealing with their rude attitudes, deceptive practices, or their piece of junk car that I NEVER agreed to pay $15,000 for.

Credit Acceptance is trying to sue me for a car that was repossessed . The original hearing in Broward county was dismissed but now they are trying to reopen it. I was never served. The clerk of courts has my sons name down as who a private processor left paperwork with which is not true. There is a upcoming zoom hearing on 11/13/2023 to see if the courts will reopen their claim. I need help and I want to see if I can turn the tables onthem. Had a car for $450 a month for 4 years. Originally purchased in Georgia. They would not help when i lost my job and couldnt afford the car or the repairs associated with it. Credit Acceptance have been making fraudulent reports of late payments on a closed charged off auto loan account. Since April of 2019 until now July 2023 account. The account been closed since May 2019 and they fraudulently reopened it after the pandemic in 2020 and have violated CFPB. They are by far the worse company to finance with. If your desperate to get a car. Still don\'t do business with these ppl. They overcharge you what the car is worth and also very high interest..There being sued right now for engaging Illegal practices. Which they have been with me making fraudulent reports of past due late payments on a closed charged off account. Since My account been closed since 2019 and they fraudulently reopened and have violated CFPB. I have disputed multiples times online and now sending my disputes letters to all 3 credit bureaus for them to investigate. Credit Acceptance needs to be shut down.! Asap they ruin ppl lives and credit like they did mines.. My credit dropped significantly because they continues to report past due late payments on my credit report from when my last payment was made in 2018. Up until now of July 2023. My car been towed in 2019. They charged it off sometime between 2019 thru March of 2020 it was written off the whole duration of the pandemic then fraudulently reopens the account. Now its currently in open status and dropping my score badly. Which prevents me from future loans to finance another car. They suck I hope one day they get sued for all they got.!!

During Covid, i set up to be on a deference program they offered as I suffered a job closing during that time, three months they lasted and instantly blew up my phone saying they never offered that program to anyone and to backpay everything. I couldnt do that in the middle of covid with NO MONEY COMING IN. They picked up the car and ended up suing me without notifying me of any court date, i only found out I was sued by a letter saying they are now garnishing all of my wages in 15 days. I WILL BE HOMELESS in 15 days still no car and a ton of debt they already reported. how can they sue without telling you. i was never notified to be in court.

I list my job during the pandemic. I tried to make arrangements with this company. They told me to pay the interest and everything would be OK. So I did for 4 months. After 4 months they started calling me 20 times a day demanding full payments of past due plus late fees and penalties. After a couple weeks of the harassment I finally told the I can\'t afford it I\'ve lost everything due to covid so come pick it up. They sold the truck @ auction and now I\'m being sued for more than I owed on the truck. I requested arbitration and the guy on the phone refused to talk about it. This company is a joke and should be shut down.

I bought a car at DADA AUTO INC I had to get it financed through credit acceptance the owner at the car dealership acted like his printer was messed up when it was time to print off my contract when I received my contract the dealership doubled the price I was supposed to be financed through the bank the car price I was financed went from 6500 to 18000 pls help
