Problematic Prepaid Cards 

According to complaints, Green Dot Bank has been issuing cards that aren’t working. Some reported not being able to access their newly issued prepaid cards while others reported not getting their supposed credits through the company’s issued gift cards. Green Dot Bank is obliged to investigate when there has been a complaint brought by one of the card holders, i.e., So far i have over $6,000.00 taken away from me by Green Dot! So far, it has been approximately 17 months and not one shred of evidence receipts signed contracts nothing, but a complete waste of time calling for any help! behavior of misconduct and misleading the card holder where the transactions of November 8th, 2023, to December 11,2023

I received an email from Go2bank twice first email said that a send money $tag was created for my Go2bank account second another email was sent saying that my sent money payment to Marcella has been sent Green dot corporation deposited three on Feb 3 -26 for amount $250- $200- 190 and on Feb 5th green dot corporation deposited one for $200 so I called the number in back of my debt card I spoke with rep told her how can they agree to open a sent money tag without my consent they they approved a transaction of some one sending out money to Marcella and I didn’t approve these changes to my account the person who took money from my account also changed my phone and address on my debt card so the rep said they couldn’t help then they wanted the merchant name I told them that the deposits came from green dot corporation and the rep closed my debt card and now I have no access to my debt card the amount that was in my account total was $840 so someone got into my account and stoked that money ,if green dot for some reason want that money back how am I suppose to pay that back when I didn’t even know that money was in my account in the first place my debt card is a prepaid card only when I deposit money is when I know there’s money ,I just don’t want to have to pay back money I didn’t take thank you

My unemployment payment of $504.00 was stolen by an unknown third party on 02/08/2022 and sent to Green Dot, even though I never opened or had a Green Dot account. I attempted to contact Green Dot immediately but was unsuccessful until 08/06/2025, when Green Dot contacted me. I returned the release of funds letter on 08/11/2025 authorizing the funds to be released to me. On 11/21/2025, a Green Dot representative informed me the funds had been sent back about 10 days earlier. I finally received my unemployment deposit on 12/05/2025. The delay caused financial hardship for me.

GreenDot is denying access to my funds citing \"limits\" being reached or exceeded that were not disclosed to me in the first place. I\'m being denied to ability to link my GreenDot to most financial institutions via online or apps, nor am I able to complete any type of payment, ACH transfer, cash pick up, GreenDot to GreenDot payment, or otherwise; with GreenDot citing an inability to verify my identity as the reason. But they refuse to give me an opportunity to verify my identity via online, on their app, an app such as ID.me, by fax or by mail.

Walmart Money card not giving access to my funds using there barcodes saying they will work but they clearly don\'t which my car been repossessed that honda said all i need is 1680 to get it back which as you see over $1400 is in my account I have the rest in cash to be able get the rest the 1680 to get my car out but Walmart keeps guarantee me I can touch my money gives be these barcodes to have customer service scan then I get these printed receipts. How is it legal for a banking business to keep your money hostage especially when you need it especially with a guarantee from them that these barcodes will work n I\'ll walk out with my Money in hand them also say they\'re going to charge me fees for a new card especially as they never notified me on July 8th saying they restricted said card due to they said I was hacked and just found out 3 / 4 days ago when I attempted to pay for my leased 2024 honda accord that needed to get to my gigs had been booked for n haven\'t been able to make most them due this as well my car repossessed with them holding my money hostage. That\'s one my issues I suppose start there due to the confusion on 2 separate matters. Am feel anxiety stress from all these that walmart money card has created which I would of got myself out of this car repossession if they actually gave me access to my funds especially if they said I was hacked July 8th even more reason I want access to my funds immediately. I have pictures of the printed receipts they guarantee me I can get my money n they say unable process transaction at number of close by walmarts. Also have filed with attorney general as well reached out to local senators/bank departments.

I purchased a prepaid debit card from seven eleven, it took me a couple of days for me to activate the card. They day that I activated the card I immediately tried to make the internet based payment. The payment was denied. I attempted to contact green dot and they were closed. The next morning I tried to make my purchase again and was unsuccessful. at that moment I logged into my green-dot account on-line and notice that my balance changed. When I contacted them by phone I was told that I was charged almost an $8.00 service fee... I explained that It cost me $25.00 to make a $11.00 payment that I have not been able to make and you guys took a service charge before I could even make my first payment. As of now I can no longer call them because they hang up on and I am not able to make any payments with this card. Do I have a case against them... because I was not able to make my payment on time I have to pay additional money this is stressful and is taking too much time out my day. I even considered just letting them have the money. What do you suggest?

One thing that made me leave this comment is because I just read Stephanie\'s comment right below me and honestly you all well especially you Stephanie will never believe this it\'s exactly what happened to me I mean I bought my card from my Dollar general store here in Kentucky came home and they said the same thing they told me well after I had caught him a few times they told me it was taking a while to activate the card and what they want me to do is interpersonal details and I couldn\'t find the site to that had the option to do that all I could do was interlock the card number so anyway the last time I called they said oh someone\'s already activated your card and registered and it\'s in someone else\'s name so we got to lock the car down for fraud long story short I tried everything and that night I sent my receipts pictures of my receipts and everything in and the next morning they sent me an email on their decision which was the denial and they said they couldn\'t help me refund it because all my funds was gone. Listen there\'s no way that people can actually do this and get away with it it\'s ridiculous

On February 28th 2025 I went to dollar general located at 27 Park rd ste 202. I purchased a 250.00 green dot card. I walked out the store directly to my car to activate card. I put in all information on the greendot card into the system. It kept giving me a error. I called greendot and they told me that someone else had already registered the card and the card was in someone else\'s name. The website that I entered my information on did not ask me for any of my personal information. I\'ve contacted green dot and was told it would be 5 business days for them to research my case and if a refund was granted it would come in form of a check in the mail. This is unbelievable as that was my last money toward a bill that needed to be paid. The \"greendot\" website that i went under after further investigation was a sponsored site with all green dot information and logos. I reported the site as well as filed a police report now I\'m seeking legal action against green dot

Good evening, My complaint, and reason I am seeking legal action against Green Dot Bank is as follows: Green Dot Bank is the entity which handles the virtual cards for Apple Cash. Recently, my virtual card, which I have routinely used for online shopping was stolen and fraudulently used to make over $3,100 of different large amounts to the same merchant in purchases within one minute of each other before a last transaction was declined because they had already drained what was in there. I called as soon as I saw this, which was the following morning and filed a dispute, froze my account, changed all my passwords, security keys and card number. This was promptly dismissed by Green Dot Bank and I was sent a vague email saying I did not qualify for refund. When I called regarding why, I was given the runaround for over 2 hours and only kept getting told I needed to provide “documentation”. Nobody could tell me what that meant. Finally, I got someone to reopen the dispute, and I was told that I had to do all my own investigative work and provide any detail I thought might be relevant. I went through everything I could possibly think of, researched this merchant which was fake but found an 800 number connected to it by my statement and called it, getting just some generic response and no help but got a name and a “reference number”. I provided everything and within a day was denied again. No reason why, and this is unacceptable. Green Dot Bank has clearly failed to protect the consumer and their fraud department has not done their job in the slightest. And it’s clear I’m going to get nowhere dealing with them directly.

Hello so nov1-2024 I purchased a prepaid greendot card loaded 260.00 to card at rite aid in Bakersfield California I went outside the store to activate card and there was a problem I couldn\'t activate card with my info so I went back into store and let cashier know I was having issues she told me no refunds pretty much take it up with greendot so I tried and tried for days with that card and trying to get a live person on the phone with me a big run around I had to order a new card online wait for it to come in mail to activate that card to get someone on the phone with me to talk about the prepaid card I bought and loaded with 260.00 they told me to send in pictures and info they would look into it in 5 days they would contact me which they didn\'t I had to call them they said the card was in a different name then mine there was no money on card and they couldn\'t help me to make a police report wow so I make police report then go back to rite aid talk to manager he contacts corp they tell him pretty much the same thing .I loaded that money as soon as it loaded someone stole my money off card I didn\'t even have time to put my info in online to activate it before someone had the money off the card IV been sitting here not knowing what to do but I want my money back I still have card receipt emails ECT please if you could help me get the money back It would be so much appreciated the reason I put the money on card cus it was to pay the rest of my rent which I lost my home due to this cus the month before my husband was robbed at gun point at atm so we were late on rent anyway this has been the worst luck anybody could ever have please help

Since Jan 17th 2025 I have been locked out of my onlince account that I use for payroll direct deposit. I have money in my account, and because of a mistake on GreenDot bank\'s end, I was without any finances at all and it caused me missed time at work, late bills due to payment plans, and I have a handicapped child. This whole ordeal has caused so many problems for us. I called the call center in India 40 times, where I was made to wait 2 business days 4 times, was lied to, blackmailed, made fun of, hung up on a spart of a game. This still has not been resolved. I filedd a complaint with FDIC and Consumer Finance Bureau last week as well. I dont see how a company can terrorize a single parent like this and not be held accountable. It is impossible to reach GreenDot Bank.

I purchased a green dot reloadable visa gift cards, after I register them on my name and go to use it. They are blocked and I called every time they blocked them. I was able to get 4 refunds out of six. First card they blocked back on November 2022 and after that I called numerous time and they keep saying to me they don’t have account so after I reached to manager about other cards, she told me only one I see it’s from November 2022, well nobody else Could see this account from November but they kept it and keep draining a fee every month of 795 by the time when I was able to get information of this account they sent me refund $444 out of 500 other time I called in February for two other cards which I never got the refund for. In March I called about the two other cards and I got the refund for them, after that in May I called about another card and I never got the refund for so out of six cards. I got 4 refunds , and two of them I’ve been calling about and they just say a different information every time I called . they sent email with information what they need from me in order to get refund and I would send it and they would change again saying now we need something else or we need a different stuff, so I’m out of funds on two cards I purchased $500 each which now is left $492.05 on each.. file complaints with Better Business Bureau file complaints with Attorney General and they stop responding to Better Business Bureau and attorney in general they sent information which is all false. A attorney in general advised me to file suit.. I called GreenDot numerous numerous times and they would hang up on me and every time telling me different information… Don’t know what else to do, but I need my funds back, please help

I\'m looking for assistance. This GREENDOT scam card literally has stolen 45k in less the a few weeks time. They have locked me out of the access, and allowed all my funds to disappear. The transaction history doesn\'t make ANY sense, and even while funds continue to lock me out giving NO access to it. They are rude, hang up in my face and have sent me almost 60k worth of claims, attempting to enforce criminality of my own transactions. Refuses to address 1000ths of dollars disappearing from credits to debits, before I even activated the card. It\'s a nightmare and I can use some reinforcement on this situation.

SHORT for law firms: I want to sue Greendot Walkmart Moneycard for millions for allowing an INDIA-BASED HELP DESK to attempt numerous fraudulent transactions... even charges made on a replacement card before I received it... twice... and then taking over my account... and cleaning out $50,000.

Hello I\'m a customer of green Dot and I have had enough i Dnt like the app I have a mental disability and it\'s real like I don\'t want no money I Dnt care about money I Dnt understand why they customer service play with my mental to the point where I\'m sick throwing up I\'m in a DV shelter and I have to deal with they customer service who live to play with our time and mental health it not fair to the small money Ppl please if you have a law suit against them let them know it\'s SSI ssa ppl who they take from and we Dnt know what they saying I believe they have ppl work from home the customer service lady couldn\'t talk to me about my issues because of a roaster in the background yes she had a rooster and they hung up instead of moving away from the noise and I was in the phone for two hours called from another number and they were playing with my mental then theyade it so i couldn\'t get in my app they so srry is what they say i had a video and screen shot of today I\'m ask for you lawyers to fight for us shut green dot owner & share holders down they are responsible for the customer service workers and it has drained my i been beat choked in a DV shelter and for two days i had my phone and iff mentally abused buy the ppl that control greendit customer complaints This is important because I know that they have taking money please prove it

I purchased a prepaid Visa at Circle k I bought it and put $350 on it I had tried to access it was told I had to wait for my permanent card which I received 11 days later and I got 3 cards! Could not use them because there had been a block on them I finally got to speak to a person and was told there was no money on any of them. From there I did and tried everything to get it back I sent a copy of the receipt and a picture of the card I got at that time and a long story short I have spent hours & days trying to get my money so I told the woman I wanted my money back she said it was fraud and turned it over to them so today I received an email saying they wouldn\'t give me my money back because there hadn\'t been any money. Please help me I live on $890 a month and now I can\'t even pay my bills! I have copies of everything just tell me what you need.

I purchased a green dot card at king stupor that was still in the package. King supers scanned the card to activate it. And I added $300 to the card when I got home like 15 minutes later. I tried to register the card online and wasn\'t able to so I. Reached out to green dot only to find out that the card Was already registered in somebody else\'s name. The CS person said they would put a freeze on the card so that the money could not be touched? And when I had called the next day to find out if there was any progress, the money that was on the card, I was told the money had been taken off the card and all that was on the card was $23. Which they said they would send me a check for and I was more or less out of the rest of the money because it had already been taken off the card. so Im out 280 dollars as far as green dot seems to feel, I have made a police report contacted their corporate office and I have reached out to King soopers and no one seems to want to help me in recovering the 300 I put on the card. King soopers has video surveillance of me purchasing the card and adding funds I also have the receipt which I sent to green dot. As of today I was sent an email from green dot stating there was $23 left on the card they were able to recover and will send to me and that was it. I\'m to take a loss for purchasing a fraudulent/tampered card. I needed to pay the rest of my rent which I no longer have to pay

GreenDot has restricted my apple cash account, even after verification. They are refusing to give a reason or provide any process for appeal. This restricts my ability to use Apple tap to pay, a new feature in IOS 18 that I planned to use.

I am reaching out because Green Dot received my Refund on July 16,2024. Then on or after the end of August 2024 I got a letter telling me about my release of my refund. I called Green Dot to find out where is my funds and they are gone! Everything is gone! I did everything they asked me to do I was promised a provisional credit never gotten! I’m facing hard times! Please help me I have them on record calls refusing to do there job !

Greendot closed my account with my tax refund inside of it the irs sent me 30,919 dollars I transferred 15,000 out of the account and they closed it with 14,269 dollars still in there saying fraudulent activity when there wasn’t any. They telling me to tell the irs ti send them a letter of indemnity the irs says they Do no such thing Greendot had to send the funds back to them and they are not releasing funds please help

They closed my account I dont know why they kept my money they also flagged my direct deposit of my ssi check then that stopped and that stopped my medical insurance I\'m disabled and I have to take medicine but thanks yo green dot I lost everything and was going to be on the street and they did it for what I still dont know why they owe me 279 that\'s it that was all I had in my account I tried to tell them that they lying on me and stopping my checks put my life in jeopardy and it still didn\'t matter all I want is what is mine but if I have to sue them then I want the most I can get I just wish the would give me what is mine and I could go about my business can you help me

I purchased a $500 card in Walgreens, I was never able to activate it. When I spoke to the company over the phone, they set up a claim and then told me they were not liable. I did not share any information with anybody. I tried to set it up within 30 minutes in my car in the parking lot of the Walgreens. I have filed a police report and I have all the receipts. How is it? You can purchase a service not get said service and nobody is liable.

I can\'t get a hold of them unless I call quickbooks online customer service and quickbooks online employees are mainly clueless about green dot bank. Quickbooks online keeps asking for coowner information in which I don\'t have one. They send me a notification that my account is closing. Then I begin to get NSF fees for payroll. I tried to call them and when they finally get a hold of green dot. Green dot tells them that the reason is \"internal\" and they cannot tell me why. Neither party knows what\'s going on. They also cannot return my NSF fee as it does not show up in their records. They seem to be unable to give me a solution.

Green dot closed well first froze and then CLOSED my account after supposed fraudulent activity, asked me to send in my ID which I did several different times because it was not up to there standards and they supposedly could not confirm my ID… so I kept sending it since it’s obviously me and this was since feb 28,2024 my account now has 5006.00 since I got my refund money deposited to my account lousy like every year for the past 6 yrs through unfortunately green dot. I never have had a problem up until now. I’m currently unemployed and was and is depending on that money to pay my bills and now I’m so closed to being homeless because of this they won’t release my funds, I have called them imminent amount of times they told me to call the irs, the IRS said they can’t do anything it’s not April and I still have no resolution. I have worked for a bank before and my understanding is if an account has been closed out they are supposed to cash out the money into a check and send it to the address of from who the account has on file I don’t get why they get to do all this with money that obviously doesn’t belong to them it’s called stealing! But anywho I really need help

I was defrauded of $2000.00 by someone that was able to access GDB to know my up to date info that I had literally just changed a short time earlier in the day & also they knew I was on the phone with customer support & knew to call within seconds of me hanging up with GDB & telling me the resolution would not work. SO somehow they have access to not only account info but also the phone system with GDB.

On Feb 24 my social security check deposited with green dot bank later that nite my acct was blocked. It has been over a month n I still cannot access my money I have had this acct for almost 6 years n no problem til the 24. I can see my transactions n my balance but do nothing else. I have called n called. Sent in id over n over. U can’t talk to the same person. I have been hung up on. One man said he was just gona close the acct n I could never have a card again. I filed a complaint with fed reserve on March 8. Called green dot n the man told me he had 60 days. It’s my money in the account I have done nothing wrong. I had to borrow money n put off bills n change my ss n pay n auto pay to a new acct. n I still don’t have my money.

I bought a green dot \"pay as you go\" mastercard for $500.00 on 2-26-24,the card would not register saying invalid card number, the store manager at Walgreens where I bought the card spend over an hour trying to resolve it with green dot as well. They say they will send refund, but have not received, plus, when I call to get status of refund, they say there is no record of refund and to have Walgreens exchange the card for another. Walgreens say you have to pay another 500.00 for another card or it wont activate. I have called green dot with long wait times and representative offer no help and written letters to green dot and walgreens with no answers back. I believe the store manager has pulled all the cards for sale, because of all the issues they were having. However, she admitted there was problems and kept selling the cards up until the one I bought, with no warning signs on the cards that they may not work. No side wishes to take responsibilty. I have tried every avenue I could, however, this is like theft to the unassuming victim, you think if Walgreens sells it, it should be somewhat legitimate. thanks

I want to file a claim against Green Dot Bank. I purchased a Walmart MoneyCard in store at the Money Center depositing $500 cash on the card. 3/7/24, I attempted to activate the card but it failed, I went back into the store the employees told me it wasn\'t anything they could do. I called the number on the back of the card, I was told the card was registered to someone else and I couldn\'t access it. I have my receipt and the debit card I purchased. Several days later The Fraud Team told me they could not reimburse me because I created a pin which I did not because the card is not in my name.

GreenDot closed my account July 19, 2023 with $19,000 in it. Told me to get the IRS to send a letter of indemnity to get the money back. Was also told that they turned the account over to the IRS for review. Was also asked to send in my ID and utility to verify me. It’s been a long, stressful 8 months. Not sure how to take this organization down as a whole but I will be filing a lawsuit to get my money.

A few weeks ago, I received my tax refund via direct deposit to my bank, Green Dot. Upon it hitting my account, my account was locked due to \'suspicious activity\'. I\'ve submitted documents TWICE that they requested, but have ignored. I\'ve called them several times with no luck. Since my account is locked, I won\'t be able to pay rent for March, and I will be evicted and become homeless.

This company is stealing our tax return money!!!!!!! THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST BANK AND CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!! I got my tax return deposited onto my account after that I use my card for about two days before they blocked my account for suspicious activity and said I had to send in a picture of my ID and that they needed to verify my account. Mind you this is the same account that I’ve been using to receive my direct deposits from my job And I almost use this card every single day!! Well, they told me that they couldn’t verify my ID and they close my account and told me that I would be receiving a check in the mail for the remaining balance that was in my account. I just called them yesterday and now they’re saying that I need to contact the originator of my refund check That doesn’t even make sense because the check was already deposited and I already spent money from that refund check. Now they’re saying that they can’t send me out a check until i contact the originator of the tax refund check to have it reversed !!!! This makes absolutely no sense to me. These people have almost $6000 of my money and will not give it to me. This is ridiculous!!!!! Someone please tell me what I can do about this????!!!!!

I am a single mother who is only able to work part-time in order to help care for my 24 year old son, who was paralyzed two years ago, and his two year old brother. I rely on my tax return to supplement my income throughout the year. I have had my card for five years and when my tax return was deposited recently I paid my propane, took money out to pay back my uncle for my previous propane bill, and bought two pairs of shoes that I desperately needed. Then my paycheck was deposited and they suspended my account for \"fraudulent activity.\" I called customer support and provided them with proof that it was me several times, but they wouldn\'t accept my state issued valid Nevada driver\'s license as proof. They were rude and hung up on me several times. After getting the run around they closed my account with $5,596.75 in it and are telling me that the IRS will have to withdraw their direct deposit, which I know for a fact will not happen. Then they said to write a letter to Green Dot Bank in Ohio asking them to release my funds and then the last guy said to wait 3 weeks while they do an investigation and then they will send my money. I asked if there was a possibility they would not send my money after their investigation and he said he \"can\'t answer that.\" Please help me get my funds released and withdrawn from this fraudulent company.

Greendot Bank has placed a \"suspicious activity\" block on my account since 02/23/24 and are unwilling to verify my account due to the main account holders name being different on the account then on her ID. My wife is the main account holder and her debit card says Andrea Helms, her ID says Andrea Contreras. We submitted both of our ID\'s and our marriage license and they still made her get a new ID. We got her ID updated and they said because its a temporary ID they cannot verify. For the past week, we\'ve done everything they have asked; and more, and all they do is give us a runaround and excuses as to why they cannot verify our account. I believe this \"suspicious activity\" is fraudulent because we have not received any deposits from sources that we have not previously received from. We\'ve been with them for at least 5 years and haven\'t run into this issue before although we have had other issues.

Green dot aka APPLE cash has restricted my account and fasly accused me of suspicious activity and fraud. In which ever since the product came avaiable I have used it to send and receieve funds from friends and family pay bills etc. I feel as tho this is a profling thing and I havent ever had this happen before.

2021 taxes : IRS told me my funds were deposited , I never received ... I called this IRS back and spoke to 1000 people... Finally I got info that my acct and routing number were not my normal numbers... The IRS person said I should of got a green dot bank card... First time I have ever heard of them ... The deposited my money into a green dot account and I never received my money ... Luckily it\'s only 750 Dollars but at this point it\'s just principal ... If there is anything you can help me with please let me know

I purchased 2 prepaid Visa card from Walmart as Christmas gifts. When we opened the cards, then tried to activate, we noticed there were no CVV codes printed on the back, so they can\'t be activated. I have contacted Green Dot multiple times, been told they are looking into the claim. I received an email saying the claim is denied, these cards were used! There response is that I should seek law enforcement if I feel that it is a fraudulent case.

Quickbooks illegally opened a Checking account via my QuickBooks account. Come to find out, the account is with Greendot bank. They are illegally withholding monies that customers have paid me within that account and there is no way to release then funds to my actual business bank account.

I had my tax refund deposited on my green dot card. I verified my identity twice they let me spend 5,00 and froze the remaining balance of 30,000. I called and verified my identity again… they told me to contact the issuing bank and have them request the funds back on the company overhead letter. I did only to be told by TPG THAT THEY DON’T DO THAT. IN FACT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO SENT ME A REFUND BY CHECK IN THE MAIL. This has caused me to loose everything!

October 21st my card was declined. I called Green Dot and spoke to a representative and was told they thought my card was compromised and they stopped all activity on my card. At the point they told me I had to order a new card and it would arrive between 7-14 days. I called them on October 31st because I still had not received my card and was told to wait until November the 4th and to call back. At the evening of October 31st a direct deposit for my Social Security disability was put into my Green Dot account. I called Green Dot again and told them I have not received the card and asked to take the money out because I still needed to pay the bills. They stated that until I got my new card that my account was locked and I could not get money out, transferred, or bill pay. I was then told to wait until November 4th and call back. I called and asked why I could not get my money and they said again that until I got my card they would not release any money. I called them back on the 9th because I still had not received my first card and I am desperate for my paycheck. They said they would send me another card in which they had already charged me $10 and I still have not received it. I then asked if I could expedite the card and was told I would have to call again in 24 hours to see if I could expedite the card. I had called them back later on that day because there was $179.88 that was charged from my account and I called them back and argued with them about taking money out of my account when I can\'t even take money out and they told me I would have to file fraud paperwork. I argued with them that I did not do this, that you guys allowed this transaction even though I was told this would not happen and you allowed this. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was told there was no supervisor available and was hung up on. On Monday the 13th I called them and complained about not getting my card and the lady at that point she said she can expedite the card but I could still not have any of the money. I asked to talk to a supervisor and she basically said that my account was closed and what they have to do is to issue a refund check and in order for them to issue a refund check I had to verify my identity. They asked me for my drivers license, id from where I live and get my mail, and I had to sign paperwork for the fraudulent charges. When I talked to this lady this was the second time I had sent the documents because the first time she said they were not legible. She had also stated again that the $179 was a fraud charge and had until December 15th to process it and they hadn\'t released my check either because it has to come to my physical address. My physical address in parachute they do not deliver mail in town, you need to have a PO Box. I gave her my PO Box number and she kept saying they cannot deliver it to my PO Box. That was my only option unless they wanted to FedEx it. I also asked about transferring the money into my Wells Fargo account. She said it was not possible because they need to make sure I was not being fraudulent. So I sent the paperwork and asked how long it was going to be. She said 2-5 days to review the paperwork before the check will be cut. I was really upset and told her I was not happy with the company and told her I was going to report her to the Better Business Bureau and that if I had to contact the police I would but I haven\'t yet. I checked today to see my account is closed. My Social Security check is still sitting in the account. I have received 4 to 5 emails since Friday, November 10th telling me that I needed to send a copy of my driver\'s license and a copy of a utility bill. I have sent those documents 4 times as of today\'s date. Today I called again because I received and email requesting those documents and they asked me to all them. I was transferred 3 times before getting to the Corporate Office. I told her that I had sent those documents 4 times now. She informed me that the documents couldn\'t be scanned and that I had to take a picture of each document, make sure the document was totally in the square, and respond to their email and attach the document, otherwise they would reject the documents. While the lady was on the phone I sent two documents, my driver\'s license front and back and then a receipt for utilities that I paid. The lady stated that the utility receipt was not for utilities. I told her that it clearly states utility bill. She then says the team will review these forms and if approved, we will approve the refund request and it will take 3 weeks. I told her that I needed my money now and that I was sick ad tired of the run-around they were giving me, and she hung up on me. I called again today

On 8/6/23 I had 9 pending charges from Microsoft*Store each one for $59.87 & 1 pending charge for Mystery Tacklebox for $19.99. I called that day to dispute the charges. They told me I had to wait to see if they drop off or if they go through. Even though they were pending it took the money out of my account. They canceled my card and said I should receive one in 8-10 business days. I ended up calling back once the charges went through. All 9 of the Microsoft one\'s went through. I filed my dispute. The Mystery Tacklebox dropped off but my account was not credited the $19.99. It\'s day 18 and still no card. I\'ve called 3 seperate times. On 8/14 the guy told me my card was sent & should receive it anytime. I called back on 8/17 & the lady told me it was sent. Then I called 8/21 & the lady said there was a system issue & my card was sent on 8/19. So basically keep getting the runaround. I linked my account to PayPal to try to transfer money. It took $25 out of my GreenDot & I\'ve been waiting for it to show up on PayPal. Yesterday I had a $25 courtesy credit on my GreenDot account so I\'m assuming they are blocking that transfer. Have not been able to buy food, get gas. I\'m a single mom with an 11 year old. Luckily I work from home but my rent is late. I already deal with severe depressive disorder & this is taking a toll on my mental & emotional health.

Green Dot has given my husband and I nothing but issues. This morning his paycheck was deposited, and the money then disappeared from the account. His entire paycheck gone. This was the last straw. Before this there would be days, we couldn\'t access money that was in the account. Couldn\'t pay bills, couldn\'t buy food for our child. Green Dots customer service is 0 help. They provide generic responses, or you wait on hold to be disconnected. Now we are out his entire paycheck with no idea when or even if the money will be returned. We are left in a position where we can\'t pay our rent or even buy gas or groceries.

DL was sent, hours of phone calls and they denied my proof of Identity telling me it is fraudulent which it is clearly not. They are holding 2,8901.00 which has caused great financial stress. When I signed up for Greendot, I didn\'t provide my SSN. My Greendot balance is zero. I threw away my card when it was empty. I am about to begin accruing inactivity fees next month, but am unable to login due to not having a SSN in their system or the card number. I cannot contact any sort of customer service to help me log in. These fees are going to rack up, but I have been repeatedly unable to contact the company. I don\'t want to accrue debt I am actively trying to fend off a month before it hits.

I received a $100 Walmart Visa Gift Card (issuing bank Green Dot Corp) in it’s original unopened packaging in January of 2022 as a gift. On August 12, 2022 I intended to use the funds on this card for a purchase. I proceeded to register the card using the website provided on the back of the card and discovered there was a $0 balance on the card. Looking at the card agreement provided with the card, in paragraph 3 it states in order to report card lost or stolen, file a dispute, make internet, phone or mail order purchases the card has to be registered. In calling the number on the back of the card 1-866-633-9096, after explaining my case and getting transferred and disconnected multiple times, they confirmed the card had been loaded with the funds and there was a transaction in the amount of $100 to Geico Auto in Washington D.C. on March 7, 2022. I have never done business of any kind with Geico Auto. I then asked to file a dispute and was told that I authorized the transaction. Since I know I had not authorized this transaction and based on how I read the card agreement, such a transaction by anyone else should not have been authorized since card had not been registered at time of transaction. I called back in again and after the run around, filed another dispute. 10 days later another letter stating they stood behind the decision of first dispute case. I called back in again to file another dispute and asked for supporting documents to their decision from first two cases. I also sent a letter requesting same but no response to request. The third dispute resulted in they were going to refund the $100. Problem is they can’t put funds back on card because they closed the account and card is not reloadable. I was told I’d be getting a refund check. I have made three attempts so far after the two weeks they promise to get the check comes and goes. Each call I get the run around and an excuse as to why a check never gets issued. I have filed a BBB complaint. Green Dot attempted to call me, leaving a voicemail, with a case number that nobody could find when I called back.

I purchased a green dot card on 11/10/2022. I registered it right away, set up a pin number. I then put the debit card number in google play to purchase an anti-virus app. I found out that I didn\'t put enough money to buy that app, so I canceled the card from the google play app. When I went to the store to try and use it, the card was declined. I\'m going to call green dot tomorrow and try to cancel the card. If they refuse to cancel the card, I may need your help in making them do that. I don\'t care about losing the 65 dollars I loaded on the card, but I do worry about incurring a negative balance. If green dot doesn\'t answer their phone, or refuses to cancel the card, I will need your assistance in making them do that, including going into arbitration. I\'m a veteran and a senior citizen. Please help if they don\'t cancel the card. Thank you. Don Evans.
