Lyft was founded in 2012. The company is in service of over 95 percent of the US population and select cities in Canada. Lyft offers car rides as well as rentals using its application, essentially known as a ridesharing business.

Lyft consumers reported being charged varied fares before and after their trip. Clients felt cheated especially those who have taken Lyft for a trip they’ve already taken recently, making them aware of usual rates. This practice is quite misleading considering the technologies allowing other rideshare apps to accurately calculate final fares upon ordering their ride.
