Introduction
Crawford County, with the county seat of Robinson, has a population of 19,817 according to the most recent U.S. Census. The county was named in honor of William H. Crawford from Georgia, the Secretary of State and Secretary of Treasury at the time of its formation.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Crawford County has a total area of 446 square miles, of which 444 square miles is land and 2.2 square miles is water, with some of the eastern border of the county defined by the Wabash River.

Crawford County has a largely agricultural community, as well as many residents working in manufacturing, health care, and administration, keeping its roadways busy.
