Henderson County, with the county seat of Oquawka, has a population of 7,331 according to the most recent U.S. Census. The county was named for Richard Henderson, founder of the Transylvania Company.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Henderson County has a total area of 395 square miles, of which 379 square miles is land and 16 square miles is water.
