Shelby County, with the county seat of Shelbyville, has a population of 22,363 according to the most recent U.S. Census. The county is named for Isaac Shelby, Governor of Kentucky.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Shelby County has a total area of 768 square miles, of which 759 square miles is land and 9.5 square miles is water.
