Introduction
Stark County, with the county seat of Toulon, has a population of 5,994 according to the most recent U.S. Census. The county is named for General Colonel John Stark, a Revolutionary War hero at the Battle of Bennington.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Stark County has a total area of 288 square miles, of which 288 square miles is land and 0.3 square miles is water.
Major Highways
Stark County has a largely agricultural community, as well as many residents working in manufacturing, health care, transportation, and retail, keeping its roadways busy.
