Introduction
Warren County, with the county seat of Monmouth, has a population of 17,707 as of the most recent U.S. Census. The county was named for Dr. Joseph Warren, who was believed to be the first officer death in the Revolutionary War.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Warren County has a total area of 543 square miles, of which 542 square miles consists of land and 0.6 square miles is water.
Major Highways
Warren County has a largely agricultural community, as well as many residents working in manufacturing, transportation, health care, and retail, keeping its roadways busy. The major highways that run through Warren County include: U.S. Highway 34, U.S. Highway 67, Illinois Route 94, Illinois Route 116, Illinois Route 135, and Illinois Route 164.

Warren County weather is typical for Illinois, with highs averaging 85 °F during the summer months and lows averaging 15 °F during winter. On average, Warren County gets 38.4 inches of measurable precipitation in the form of rain, snow, or hail, which not only contributes to motor vehicle accidents, but also slip and falls, pedestrian accidents, and bicycle accidents.
