Introduction
Will County, with the county seat of Joliet, has a population of 677,560 according to the most recent U.S. Census. The county is named for Dr. Conrad Will, a businessman and politician involved in salt production in southern Illinois.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Will County has a total area of 849 square miles, of which 837 square miles consists of land and 12 square miles consists of water.
Major Highways
Will County roads and highways are frequently busy with residents traveling back and forth to work, school, and to the activities in the area.
