I cosigned on a car for a little girl who skipped out on me after I paid the car payments for 14 months, plus the car insurance, repairs, etc. The car was repossessed. It was sold for a ridiculously low price and they are telling me that my name is the only one on the contract (i.e. they removed the little girl from all financial responsibility.) This little girl made me sign under duress. I am a senior citizen with medical bills and no one to lean on, I do not know where she is and this company wants me to pay $9,500. I do not have that kind of money.
