I've been receiving several threatening calls from this organization, where they've disguised themselves as officers of the court. They've called my work and family (parents) threatening them they're having someone serve me at their house, even though I don't reside there. I have told them to crease and desist, and still receive calls. I've tried resolving the debt, however my bank put a hold on the payment as possible fraud. I was advised to request documentation from Liberty, to confirm they actually hold the debt. I have requested demand letters, or even something showing me they are even authorized to process payment. They refused. If this is a legitimate debt, I would like to resolve it, without their constant threat and unscrupulous business practices.

My mother was called and harassed by a company that called themselves both liberty amd universal. I then called and was told had I not paid them or set up an auto pay immediately then I would be arrested for fraud. I panicked because i am currently repairing my credit and knew I owed the debt they spoke of. They used my personal info against me. I paid over $400 to them before realizing I was being scammed. I called them back after having to really dig for a contact number as the one I had contacted them on before was no longer in service. I asked them to provide me documentation of the debt with a return address. The then got very rude and started threatening me again. My mother is still being harassed and she has saved numerous voicemails left by these people. Can you help me get my money back please!!

Hello. I believe Liberty Acquisition LLC company has acted in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act through their handling of my default account. Apparently, a number of court filings have been made in Jefferson County, and wasn't made aware of any of them. Nor, was I living in the State at the time. This was ten years ago, what recourse would i have now to get this court case expunged. Thanks, Greg Duranko

My parents and daughter were contacted with a message implying I was being arrested. The compliance officer gave some humiliating information. This was AFTER I spoke with “mr. green” and asked for a written statement of my debt. He hung up on me as did Nicole (liberty rep). She hung up on me twice meanwhile Mr Green was telling my dad that I had put him down as a “guaranteer” and a court case was pending and leaving a message on my daughter’s voicemail. My father was NEVER on the original payday loan which I more than paid off. I reached another agent who offered me a “deal” which I took to stop the harassing phone calls.

They are supposedly "reviving" a judgment and we are not sure why. I am having my mom pull all of her payment records. An original credit card debt of $500 has now become an unsatisfied balance of $17K.

Received a motion for revival of judgement for an alleged debt. I do not remember the original debt or who the original debtor was. It may have been from my second marriage which ended in divorce in 2006, if it was ever a legitimate debt. If these are real court documents, it says the plaintiff is LIBERTY ACQUISITIONS SERVICING LLC, It came in the mail, first class. The return address is from JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEMS LLC. I suspect it may not be legitimate, but don't want to take any chances. The "court document" says I have 14 days from service of notice, but it came in the mail, so I am unsure if it's 14 days from yesterday, when I received(can't prove that if it's first class mail), or from the date they mailed it(7/21 per the date stamp on the envelope). To make this more confusing for me, the document says it was mailed on 7/20, though the stamped date again says 7/21. Regardless, it claims I have less than 2 weeks to respond to the court. The document does not claim it was mailed to the court, only states it was mailed to me. Should it say it was mailed to the court too? The document does not have a signature from the county clerk and a stamp with a seal. Should I contact the court now or wait to verify the case number on the document? I'm thinking they may not have it yet, if they were sent one. I have little time if this is legitimate.
