My husband and I were having trouble paying our bills and decided to consolidate our 4 credit card bills. It did help us save a lot of money on 3 of the credit cards. The 4th card is a Capital One card in my husband's name for approximately $4,500. We were served a court summons in Sept 2014 by a court employee at our house. We filed an answer to the summons at the courthouse the next week. We never heard anything about the case again until May 8, 2015. The lawyers filed a motion for summary judgement in the snail mail (not registered - just regular mail) Zakheim & LaVrar, P.A. is the attorney listed for the plaintiff. The lawyers now say we owe $6310.81 listed in the Sept 2014 summons. They call my house at least 3 times a day. Some of the numbers are directly from Zakheim &LaVrar themselves and others calls are from "unknown" numbers. The debt consolidation lawyers say that they will probably take us to court. I have read so much online about Zakheim & LaVrar and found your website. Can you help? My husband and I are really on hard times and can't afford this.

I am being garnished on my wages on a debt from 2010 starting in June 2016. I believe I steeled this along time ago with target. It has been so long I don't have any records. They just went and notified me without me knowing of any court hearing. I can send the documents when you email me. 8/31 should be will be over 1900 dollars I have paid them. I do not have any statements. I called and they said it was 1600 dollars and some change. They are rude and non responsive to my inquiries. Thank you

These people are horrible. I have a summary of judgment which I have to go to court for on Sept. 4th. In Burgaw,nc. I have heard they will put a garnish on my bank account. Capital one for $2000. I lost my job a couple of years ago and have tried to keep up my credit card payments but fell behind. I am 70 years old and living on SS totaling $599. They keep calling me at least 10 times a day ,at all hours. I am going to have to file bankruptcy. I would have paid if I could!

Zakheim & LaVrar have been harassing me since 2005. For 2 old credit cards that are not even on my credit. They have already froze my back account and stole my entire paycheck in 2011. Now they are still coming after me trying collect more money and trying to get private information about me from my car finance place. I am currently partiality disabled and am the head of my household with 4 children. I need them to stop harassing me once and for all this has gone on for over 13 yrs.

Have to go to bank to get a cashiers check to pay Target debt via bank ccount hold by Zakiem and LavRas. I owed a target card debt of $900 and was sued by Consumer claims Zakheim & Lavrar P.A., they got a judgement, raised amount owed to $1600 plus another $100 for more attorneys fees. They put a judgement hold on my bank account for $3190.88 (twice the amount owed) then added the same judgement to four of my accounts making amount held $11,000. Should I pay the $1600 as my accounts are locked up until i do? I need access to my business sole Proprietorship Veteran. Owned small business banks accounts and need the 11k releeased from being held for the $900/$1610 debt payment!

My name is Misty. My elderly mother in law was served papers from a gentleman who threatened to have a warrant issued for me if I didn't show up in court. The papers were dated for January 11, and they were served this evening at 9pm. The other problem is the document showed my maiden name and said I was a resident of a different county. I work for a government contractor and I've just submitted my application for a top secret security clearance. One of the questions asked was if I was in any financial debt similar to this and I said no, because at the time I wasn't. I'm worried that the papers had the wrong date!

Zakheim & LaVrar have filed lien on my house back in Oct. 2011. House is on my name only and the default judgement amount of $9099.77 which was my spouse credit card account. I don't understand how they could file lien on husbands house with my wife's unsecured loan. Is there way out of this mess!

We had a foreclosure on our first mortgage and we assumed that lawyer was going to include the second mortgage, but did not. Now Zakheim & LaVrar have the judgement and are putting leins on our checking accounts. How can we get this cleared up? We don't own that house any longer. Thanks.

Hi Lynne. Debt collectors cannot put a garnishment on your bank account without a court order. What hours are they calling you? Do you have a log of those calls? Have you spoken with anyone about filing bankruptcy? I can help you with all of this. I will give you a call and we can discuss your options. Thanks, Mike

Zakheim & LaVrar, PA, placed a lien on my home in 2015, and I don\'t know what the debt is for but I need to get financing for a new roof. I don\'t know what my next steps are and am afraid to contact them directly for fear of reopening a huge can of worms. It\'s only $1140 plus $256 legal fees, but it\'s the interest over the years that has me concerned. Can you help? I am a single mom with a disabled son, and in early 2015 I had a serious medical condition and was unable to work. I\'ve since gotten back on my feet but need to refinance to get a roof and am unable to with the lien present.
