Hi! So I will try to summarize the issue. I had previously signed up for an eco-friendly electric company who said I\'d pay less than my normal company. That ended up being false and they put me in debt by telling me to wait before closing the account. Now I have $350~ that I owed for something that was not my fault but the company did not approve my dispute reason. I called the collections company today because I was not sure why this (214)-382-4871 number kept calling me and realized it was for the bill. I got my account information and asked for a settlement offer but they said they had none and now they want to report it to the credit bureau. I have a fair credit at this time and am living check to check. I\'d love to get rid of that debt but only for something I can afford and I can\'t believe they\'re going to report it as refusal to pay although the main issue is that I can\'t afford to pay that all at once. Hope I can get some help with this, thank you!

My apartment complex had a fire, wanted compensation for the fire, and since we refused to pay for the damages due to insurance and legal cases, they sold the debt to someone in January.

Phone number 8007323799 called and left a message to can back and direct my call to extension 142, but did not identify who or why they were calling. Just said they were PI and asked me to call them back so I googled them and came across a ton of complaints about these people regarding harassment. I currently have no credit so I\'m not sure why they are calling me.

ProCollect has been harassing me for over a year now for a debt I do owe. I get a call almost daily from them. I have a check stub for my returned security deposit of 900 + dollars that is dated. I was turned over to collections after the date on the check for 400 dollars. I have tried contacting the apartment complex and can never speak to anyone and my old landlord said she would take care of the collections because it was accidently filled. My old landlord has since blocked my number and does not respond to emails. I do no owe the money. Why would I get 900 dollars back prior to be turned over to collections for 400 dollars. ProCollect will not work with me on this matter and do not listen when I try to explain/get clarification. I am tired of this mess.

Hi Dana. There is no set number of phone calls that the law considers harassment. You do have the right, though, to make the calls stop. You can contact my office and we can discuss a cease and desist letter, as well as other options you have under the law. Thanks, Mike 888 572 0176
