I received a very rude phone call from Mrs. Angie Wright with FMS Financial Solutions. In reference to an outstanding bill with my previous Landlord. I was trying to work out a payment plan and when I told her I couldn't afford the amount she originally mentioned she ridiculed me, practically accused me of being a liar and threatened me with wage garnishment. I was attempting to make an arrangement to pay of a debt in a way that wouldn't hurt as much financially and she responded with rudeness and threats. While that type of behavior is unprofessional in my opinion, is it actually unethical or even illegal!

FMS Financial Solutions contacted me regarding a debt owed for an Apartment Complex. The amount owed was incorrect. Dave Kennedy asked me for accurate information that I provided to the best of my knowledge. Mr. Kennedy reduced the original amount and I setup payment arrangements for $100 a month based on the promise to confirm with me before drafting my account. I was to let Mr. Kennedy know when it was ok to take a payment. I was also informed by setting up payment arrangements the company would not report the debt to the credit bureau. The problems I have experienced with this company is that they did report the debt to the credit bureau, they constantly withdrew money from my account every month without my prior consent and on a couple of occasions, twice within the same month. I have numerous emails asking Mr. Kennedy to not withdraw money from my account without my prior authorization and sometimes to refund the money withdrawn until I was able to pay. This happened month after month to the point where Mr. Kennedy verbally stated he was going to take $2000 off the remaining balance. When I asked for a balance on the amount owe a few months later, the $2000 was not deducted. The company continued to withdraw from my account without prior authorization. I contacted my bank who informed me I needed to cancel my bank card but I had many bills automatically setup for withdrawal on that card which is why I needed the company to consult with me first before withdrawing a payment. Many times this company has caused upsets with my bank account. I informed Mr. Kennedy to no longer withdraw any money from my account again ever and that I would make payments through their website. Mr. Kennedy agreed to no longer withdraw from my account and gave me a month free. That following month Mr. Kennedy requested a payment and I had to remind him that he said I could skip a month. The following month the company had withdrew from my account again. I asked for an account balance and the amount was still high as if I had not paid anything, I asked Mr. Kennedy about the $2000 discount and he said he did not say that and was not authorized to make that decision. I requested a balance recently and the amount does not seem to have decreased much at all. I have emails to confirm the conversations stated here!

I received a letter in the mail from Angie Wright, regarding a balance that I supposedly owe to a landlord, from 4 years ago, so I contacted her like the letter asked, she was rude and hung up on me. So, I called back. Again I called back and requested to speak with her boss, she stated she was the boss and I told her I know she has to have someone above her. I told her how unprofessional she was, then she advised me the call was being recording, which I responded with “good, then people can see how unprofessional you are. “ she then told me I wasn’t going to pay my bill anyways. As I tried to tell her, “why would I call you in the first place if I had no intentions on paying my bills.” She kept talking over me, accusing me of harassing her and she was going to take my to court. But I’m also wondering if this is just a scam. She was supposedly reading a paper from the apartment complex I lived in stating stuff was left on the 3rd floor. There was no 3rd floor, in the apartment. Then she rooms me to give her “13 hundred dollars” but the letter I received in the mail said I owe over 1,500. She is absolutely unprofessional, rude and shouldn’t be working with the public what so ever. From previous comments from this site and other sites, apparently, she isn’t the only one and the company should consider, customer services class. They aren’t going to collect debt from people with that kind of attitude.

I got a Perkins loan about 26 years ago and forgot about it. The amount at the time was about 900.00. I was in a horrible marriage and that time period has a lot of blanks. FMS contacted me and sent copies of the originals. They want over 5000.00. The Dept.of Ed. never contacted me at any time. I did sign the papers and would like to rectify it. My credit report from last year showed the DOE as a creditor with a zero balance. I live in Colorado. What are my options? I am on a fairly tight budget and need to figure out the best way to fix this!
