? Is Home Depot placing robocalls to you or sending you unsolicited text messages? You have rights under state and federal laws! We will aggressively enforce the law to stop this harassment. Not only will we stop the harassment, but you may be entitled to money damages, too. Finally, you won’t have to pay us a dime for our services. Keep reading to learn about your rights.

Home Depot is an American retailing company, selling home improvement supplies. The first Home Depot opened in 1979 in Atlanta, GA, which remains the company’s headquarters. Currently, Home Depot operates stores in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, China, Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. Virgin islands. In addition to selling home improvement products, Home Depot also offers credit cards for consumers and contractors, both backed by Citigroup.

What happens, though, if you find yourself in financial difficulty and you cannot pay your Home Depot credit card? Well, you’re not alone. If Home Depot is contacting you to collect a debt, whether you owe it or not, Home Depot must follow the law. Home Depot has had a few issues with their billing and payments policies; the Better Business Bureau has heard 140 complaints on the subject in the last year (and over 2,000 with products and services).

If Home Depot has done anyone of the following, contact Mike Agruss Law, for a free case evaluation:

• Called you after you told them to stop calling you.

• Called you about a debt you do not owe.

• Continued to call you after you have told the collector you cannot pay the debt.

• Communicated (phone or letter) with you after you filed for bankruptcy.

• Communicated (phone or letter) with you after you told the collector you have a lawyer.

• Called you before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m.

• Called you at work after you told the collector you cannot receive such calls at work.

• Left you a voicemail message without saying the company’s name.

• Called third parties (family, friends, co-workers, or neighbors).

• Threatened legal action against you.

• Placed robocalls to you.

• Sent you unsolicited text messages.

If Home Depot has done any of the above, you may be entitled to money damages. Plus, you won’t have to pay us a dime for our services. Founding attorney, Michael Agruss, has settled over 1,500 debt collection harassment cases. Now, we want to you help you, too. Contact Mike Agruss Law, at 888-572-0176 for a free consultation.

Just checking on some legality involving a Home Depot card that is past due. They have sent the amount to a collection agency, and the agency has called me at work after I told them not to, and they are now calling my family at their homes. I know I need to pay the debt, but I don't believe they are allowed to call my family? They have my cell phone number, yet continue calling me at work and calling my relatives. I am just concerned with the fact that this company is calling my family to find me, when the clearly have my contact information!

Hi Donald. It may be possible for Home Depot to put a lien on your home. As each case is unique, and each state has its own laws, it really depends on certain details to determine what could or couldn't happen. I would be happy to speak with you and get the other details you weren't able to include in this form. Please give us a call and we can have a free, no-obligation consultation. Thanks, Mike

Hi Jill. Debt collectors are permitted to contact friends an family in an attempt to locate you, however they cannot give out any personal information about you or your debt. Typically they can only contact them once unless they give incorrect contact information about you. If they already have your correct contact information, then they are not permitted to contact your family. If they are continuing to do so, they could be in violation of your rights. Let's talk more about this in a free, no-obligation consultation. I look forward to speaking with you. Thanks, Mike

On 11/20/23, out of the blue, I received a statement in the mail from Home Depot with a balance due of almost $700. It is for a credit card account with a credit limit of $750. I live in Rockwall, TX near Dallas, and apparently someone opened the account in my name and then made purchases at three different Home Depot locations--one in Dallas, another in Mesquite, and another in Tyler, TX. I immediately called Home Depot at the # on the statement and spoke to their fraud department and told them that I do not have a Home Depot account; that I did not apply for an account with Home Depot; nor did I authorize Home Depot or give them permission to open an account in my name. They said they would immediately close the account. They then sent me a letter in the mail a few days later letting me know they would investigate the matter. I then received a second letter from them on 1/12/24 (dated 1/4/24) saying,, \"We have completed our investigation regarding your claim this account was fraudulently opened using personal information. Based on our review, we have determined that you are responsible for the account and charges in question.....As a result, we consider our investigation complete.\" A few days later I received another credit card statement from them saying my account was two payments past due. They added a $29 late fee and are also now charging interest for the unpaid balance--a balance I do not owe. In addition, since 1/14/24, they have been placing robocalls four times a day, saying I must contact them right away concerning an important matter related to my account. The # they told me to call is 866-458-7619. How can Home Depot say they have concluded that I owe the debt when I never applied for a credit card or any other account with them, nor gave them permission to open an account in my name? And how can they try and hang with a debt I do not owe? I thought about going to my local police department and filing a report, if that would help, and then I saw your website online. I just need to know what I need to do to get this matter resolved. For over 30 years, I have maintained a perfect credit report and rating and have never made a late payment to anyone. I have always paid the debts I owe. But I have no dealings with Home Depot whatsoever and did not authorize them to open an account in my name. Can you help me?
