Hi Dana. Debt collectors are permitted to contact friends and family in an attempt to locate the person they are looking for. They are not permitted to call excessively or divulge personal information to those friends and family, however. they keep calling me even after i said that i thought the insurance should have paid. also i said if not i would be glad to make payments but my daughter just had a major spinal fusion surgery and i dont have the extra money right now.

The woman who called me at my job after being asked to remove that number, had the nerve to say to me "Can't you ask your husband for money", I am a single mother. I was in shock by her rudeness and I did call back in to complain to her manager.
