The movie theater is known to be a nice family spot, a relaxing date, or a fun place to watch a movie premiere. However, there is the possibility of injury in such a dark environment where people are constantly going in and out of the theaters. If you or a loved one has been injured in a movie theater accident, contact one of our attorneys to discuss a premises liability lawsuit.

What types of accidents can occur in a movie theater?

In a movie theater, the dim lights are what make up a large amount of the risk. There could be a tripping hazard which can cause a trip-and-fall accident. On the other hand, spilled drinks may not be cleaned up in between movies, so there can also be a slip-and-fall accident. Movie theater staff should be cleaning up the theaters in between movies to prevent these types of accidents from occurring. Also, defective chairs or armrests can cause injury. Theaters should inspect every aspect of the theater to ensure its safety for all movie-goers. However serious your injury may be, we can help in getting you the compensation you deserve for any pain and suffering or medical expenses that have built up in the process.

Who is liable?

In a trip-and-fall or slip-and-fall accident, you can sue the movie theater company for your injuries since they failed to uphold their duty of care to you. In the case of defective chairs or armrests, you can sue the movie theater or the company that produced and provided the chairs to the theater since they were not properly and safely built. But also, keep in mind that this will be more clear after you speak to an attorney. They will assist you in determining negligence by proving that the responsible party breached their duty of care that they owed to you, they directly caused your injury, and you suffered damages from that injury.
