A three-car crash on Chicago’s southwest side injured seven people, among them an 8-year-old boy. The accident happened at 11:18 p.m. in the 4300 block of South Western Avenue near 43rd Street in the Brighton Park neighborhood, on Sunday, September 1, 2013. A Dodge Caravan made an improper left turn and hit a 1994 Chrysler LHS that driving north on Western Avenue—the Chrysler then collided with a Ford Windstar that was stopped at a red light on 43rd Street. An 11-year-old boy in the Chrysler LHS was transported in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, and an 8-year-old was transported in fair-to-serious condition. Five adults in the accident were taken to local hospitals in fair-to-serious condition. Charges are expected against the drivers of the Dodge Caravan and Chrysler LHS.
